We know we’re on to something when not one, not two, not three, but four Vogue staffers arrive at work wearing a similar look. Enter the Striped Minidress. Contributing Editor Lauren Santo Domingo, Assistant to the Editor in Chief Cynthia Smith, and Associate Fashion Editors Jessica Sailer and Devon Schuster (in matching ones by Minnie Mortimer) exuded summer ease with their breezy black-and-whites yesterday. The way to wear them: with long blazers and skinny T-straps. “It’s comfortable, it’s versatile, it’s packable, and it’s well priced,” says Sailer, who paired hers with a Gap Design Editions khaki jacket. “I keep telling Minnie she needs to make them in more colors,” says Schuster. “Personally, I think it looks best with the sleeves pushed up, but not rolled.” The bottom line: When it comes to making a statement in something as classic as a nautical stripe, to each her own. Smith flipped her cocktail-ready Kate Spade around and wore it backward to get the most out of its stand-out collar––so clever! Meanwhile, Santo Domingo, who bought hers at C Madeleine’s Vintage shop in Miami, mapped it out like so: “To work, I wear it with a cardigan or jacket because it’s really low in the back, but to the beach? Just sunglasses, sandals, and a big straw bag. Done.”
