I really like Lauren, she's always been so stylish and well-established. I wanna see some of the work she does for Vogue.

her.little.belly.is.so.cute.in.that.pink.Dior.dress...she's.a.gorgeous.lady.in.my.opinion!

the pic of her #858 was from january's vogue...
the article was about her new company moda operandi...
i'll scan tomorrow, but in the meantime, a piece on the company from forbes.com

Moda Operandi is an online club where members can buy designer clothing two days after it’s on the runway, rather than half a year later when it finally hits stores. It was founded by Aslaug Magnusdottir, the former head of merchandising for Gilt Noir, and Lauren Santo Domingo, the Vogue editor and New York socialite extreme.

Fashion people are divided about whether to embrace the members-only site because its goal is to decimate the exclusivity of the designer trunk show–an institution long held only for high-spending customers and friends of the designer. Moda Operandi would open those elitist sneak-peeks to those who can afford to buy the stuff but don’t have an in. People are saying it will change how the business of fashion runways works–whether it’s too democratizing for the high-end and runway crowd remains to be seen.

The site will offer collections from spring, resort, fall and pre-fall each year, selling jewelry and accessories during the months in between. It requires a 50% deposit at the time of purchase and then full payment in four months when clothing is delivered. That lapse ensures the continued high production quality of the garments without compromising their I-got-it-first allure, since die-hard fashionistas will still have their duds months before anyone else and won’t be subject to the whims of store buyers determining what to carry on the racks.

So far, Narciso Rodriguez, Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler and Vera Wang, among 50 others, have agreed to join the club. Will you?

^ I am wondering if Moda Operandi will have an European branch like net-a-porter has an American one. Some European countries charge an arm and a leg in custom taxes if the orders are from outside EU.

Her company is such a brilliant idea. Now, hollywood starlets won't be the only one to get access to the pieces 6 month before they hit the stores.
Now lets see how much is the membership.

For me, the business doesn't hold that much appeal, but who knows in time. I don't think trunk shows are really exclusive anymore - they are often advertised and/or those who frequent the shop are often invited. I just don't really see the allure of buying something 2 days after it was on the runway, to be delivered 4 months later when it's out of season.

Lauren looks beautiful in the pink Dior... and her precious little baby bump makes a PERFECT finishing touch! :0)

Not sure if this photos are posted, Lauren's apartment

The decoration is beautiful IMO and I love the bold combination of the leopard print top with the polka dot skirt. godsavethhequeen thank you for posting it. :flower:

She collects anime dolls! That's so cute!
I love her colour scheme. Brown and coffee colours are so beautiful and actually help you concentrate better. But I hate that wooden table.

Likes: Her office, her artwork (Aurel Schmidt print!), and her husbands collection of robotic teddys

Overall, I am surprised how junky her home looks...there's a lot going on. I felt the same way with Vanessa Traina as well.

I find her home quite stylized but actually devoid of personal style. It feels like someone came in and designed something to look personal and eccentric and cultured and modern, but it lacks an overall cohesion, in my view.
