Horizontal stripes has never done anyone any favours. Looks very boxy to the naked eye here.

Lena Dunham underwent the chop again as she debuted a new hairstyle on Late Night With Seth Meyers on Wednesday

nothing EVER works on this girl...
plus she appears to have very bad taste and makes very little personal effort...
i would hate to be her stylist...
can you imagine how hard it must be>!
and then she still looks bad all the time...?!
ugh!

looks aside, i find her very awkward, self conscious and pretentious in every appearance i see...performing or in interviews...

she may be bright and may write well, but i'd prefer her behind the scenes because i don't think she has any talent for being in front of a camera...

there---
i said it...and i feel better...
^_^

ugh- i have to still say more...
she needs to stop trying to be the 'pretty' girl...
little dresses and spindly heels and too much make up...

lena-
if you want to look like that girl, then you need to do what those girls do and get to the gym...
sorry- but that is the truth...
and since you don't do what they do -
then try looking cool and comfortable with how you actually look, instead of trying to look like those other girls...
you are not them and will never be them and the sooner you deal with that, the better it will be for all of us...
you will be much more attractive that way, i promise!

*no borrowing clothes- the samples are made for twigs and what they have available in your size isn't worth wearing...
get your own clothes and have them fitted- you can afford it!

I get that one might not like her personality and her style (I'm with you on both), but I'm a bit shocked by the gym comments. If a girl wants to wear girly girls and spindly heels then she should go for it. I don't think every girl who wears little dresses goes to the gym, at least I know I don't, and I shouldn't feel bad about it. The fact that she does wear girly little dresses shows that she does feel comfortable in her own skin to me.

I agree with you. In fact you can tell it in Girls, she doesn't have any problem with showing her body. In that, I admire her.
And I think that she is a lot like her character in the tv show, Hannah. She feels like a girl, she is a girl, she is young, why wouldn't she dress girly?

cause it isn't flattering or attractive...
it doesn't even come off as genuine to me...
it looks like she is wearing someone else's clothes...

i don't know her so i don't know her personality...
and i have no idea what her style is...
from what i can tell- she doesn't either, which is part of the issue...

i'm just going by what i can see and she does not look good in what she chooses to wear...
i don't care if she goes to the gym or not...
but choose clothes accordingly to make the most of what you've got...
that's my point...
it's in your own best interest...

i don't believe in just wearing what you feel like...no matter how it looks...
i believe in wearing what looks best on you personally...
looking good and feeling good are closely related...
and there is such a thing as aesthetics...

i'm on her side...
sometimes a little tough love is a good thing...
^_^

aside-
this whole nonsense about it not mattering what you wear is such a farce...
of course it matters...
or we would all wear uniforms or go around naked...
*sigh*

it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter...blah
however:
when i put someone in something they would never usually wear and they look amazing...
the first time they see themselves in the mirror is worth all the struggle to convince them to put it on...
you can just feel the self love and pride welling up inside them...
it's amazing to watch...
their whole posture shifts and they begin to walk differently...

whether it's a famous actress or guy after a car accident, or a 10 yr old foster kid or a heavy set mom going to her gay son's wedding...
it's always the same...
they begin to shine...

she needs one of those moments...
that's all i'm saying...

i find it interesting how much more appealing she is to me in the couple of films i've seen her in: the one that made her career "tiny furniture" and a more recent mumblecore film "happy christmas".

in a way i kind of love her for flaunting a non-buffed figure. i am so tired of our moral and physically disciplining culture. so i think that's awesome.

i also don't care that much that she puts her foot in her mouth occasionally - for the same reason as above. i am sick of bloody perfectionism.

however, all that said, i agree with softgrey that sometimes she seems ill-at-ease in the outfits she's wearing, like she's not dressing for herself, and/or that they fit her poorly. thus, she could use a new stylist or a better seamstress, or a better personal eye for dressing so she can wear the clothes - and not let the clothes wear her...

Endorsed, endorsed, endorsed!! All of this. I think style wise her main problem is that she probably doesn't go to fittings. Nothing she selects actually accentuates her proportions. It's a mistake most people do when they select something from a lookbook or a picture. How can you guarantee that it'll actually suit you, even if you get your size? Many of these minidresses she's so fond of are really only for women with more athletic frame. It wont even look good on a slender girl who doesn't work out.

Personally I think if she could just work out at least a little, may tone her arms and legs, she'd look better. At least, if she wants to continue wearing these incredibly short dresses.

I like that she never seems to give a flying ****. That's really attractive these days, especially when some Hollywood celebs are reluctant to leave their house without a full face of make up and a stylist on command.

Lena Dunham dons a comfy dress while shooting scenes for her hit show Girls on Thursday (July 2) in New York City’s Brooklyn boroughs.
