Malcolm David Kelley (Walt) will be getting less screentime (I forgot for what reasons), but there is no word of him actually being killed this season.

You know, i think they are missing the perfect opportunity to do a Christmas themed episode. Think about it - Hurley would be the perfect Santa! The hobbit could be an elf! I'm sure Locke would have a role... There are probably reindeer on that island. It'd be... perfect! ;)

Oh, that would be fun and a perfect excuse for them to bring back our LOST! :p

More, more!

I was looking for topic about Lost here and I've just found it!
I love it : )
First when my schoolmates discussed about Lost I thought it's nothing special, people on island who try to survive. But I watched it when i was ill, a couple weeks ago and now i thing it's great. It's not stupid but clever, mysterious and... I'm waiting for show today: )!

Yeah I'm so addicted too. I really want to know how it goes on....We're so behind the US here. I guess I need to download the second season cause I can't wait until it starts here...and I want to watch the first season over and over again cause it's so interesting. I've also missed a few episodes so I don't get everything. I love this thread!

^ The second season starts out kind of slow, but it's still really good. :flower:

I may be revealing my ignorance to this...

I was in the library a few days ago studying. I took a break and looked up at the rows of books. One in front of me caught my eye - across the spine, in big bold letters it said "JOHN LOCKE". I went over and flipped through the book. John Locke was apparently a philosopher from the 1600s who was strong on morality and religion. I can't imagine that Locke on Lost isn't an intentional allusion to him.

Anyway, i found that interesting.

Yep! The founding fathers of the US based a great deal of the Declaration of Independence on Locke's philosophies (All men are created equal). There is no doubt relevance between the Lost character and him :)

'Lost' cast named entertainer of the year

The cast of "Lost," ABC's hit drama of air crash survivors marooned on a mysterious island, have won one battle -- they beat a 40-year-old virgin and King Kong's girlfriend for the title of 'Entertainer of the Year."
Entertainment Weekly named what it called a group of "treasured islanders," the cast of "Lost," as its Entertainer of the Year, calling the show one of the "biggest cult breakouts since The X-Files." In second place was Steve Carell, the star of the hit film "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and the magazine cited him for his ability to play an implausible boob.
"You're telling me I have a gift for the pathetic. I have no idea where my pathetic nature comes from. If I thought about it too long, it would depress me," Carell told the magazine.

Third was Naomi Watts, who plays the blond actress befriended by Kong in the new film reviving the classic tale of ape meets girl, ape loves girl, ape loses girl.
Kayne West, the producer-turned-rapper, was fourth and actress Felicity Huffman was fifth, praised both for her performance in "Desperate Housewives" and as a man on the verge of completing a sex-change operation in "TransAmerica."
Actor/director George Clooney placed sixth on the list with Entertainment Weekly saying that his direction of the McCarthy-era drama "Good Night, and Good Luck" helped transform him into "a man of both passion and principle."
"The one thing you get to do when you're famous is shine a light on something. But if you want to shine a light on something that isn't so palatable, you should expect to catch ... (criticism) for it and take it," Clooney told the magazine. Completing the top 10 were in order: actor Vince Vaughn, pop star Gwen Stefani, children's book hero Harry Potter and rising Hollywood star Terrence Howard, who the magazine said "stunned audiences with Oscar-caliber performances in not one but two of the year's best independent films, "Crash" and "Hustle and Flow."

THANK YOU! I thought I was totally insane for thinking he was named after somebody, I just couldn't place who ... I'm pretty sure I was sleeping on and off through that particular Civics class :p Haha, I can sleep now without that driving me mad.

^ There's the French Lady (Danielle Rousseau) as well.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau is one of the most influential thinkers during the Enlightenment in eighteenth century Europe. His first major philosophical work, A Discourse on the Sciences and Arts, was the winning response to an essay contest conducted by the Academy of Dijon in 1750. In this work, Rousseau argues that the progression of the sciences and arts has caused the corruption of virtue and morality. This discourse won Rousseau fame and recognition, and it laid much of the philosophical groundwork for a second, longer work, The Discourse on the Origin of Inequality. The second discourse did not win the Academy’s prize, but like the first, it was widely read and further solidified Rousseau’s place as a significant intellectual figure. The central claim of the work is that human beings are basically good by nature, but were corrupted by the complex historical events that resulted in present day civil society.
