i wonder if nicholas has full creative control over the ad campaign, i doubt it
That’s exactly what I mean^ forgettable you mean ?
agree !!
They obviously very consciously went for the full-on "dated" catalog look. It's interesting in its boringness, cause it's different from other top brands ads.
It's reflective of Nicolas' commercial clothes, and of the extreme commercialism that rules fashion today over any creativity.
Yes, it's bland and boring, but I actually appreciate it for exactly these reasons.
Who’d have thought… The strongest campaign of the Season.
This stands out in a sea of unpleasant color-palettes and cluttered brand-wh*ring imagery fit for department-store catalogues. This looks great on the page: Plaintive but sharply graphic. Stark but textured. Deadpan and still oozing with attitude.
^^^I stand by my choice that this is the strongest and best-looking campaign of the Season. That's not saying much of course-- look at the Season's offering... (And look at the banality of the previous Vuitton campaigns.)
With Collier, it's expectedly tedious and pretentious, with way more filler than killer. Here, every single shot is strong and full of mood and attitude without even trying: It's very Craig McDean late-90s.
