Louis Vuitton S/S 2013 by Steven Meisel

Oh this is stunning! The concept was expected but nonetheless it turned out great.

I'd never thought they would advertise this way & they did! So i'm now pretty much shocked at how well executed this ad, well at least to me :D I love the pairing models together as what they had done during the FW exactly. I love the overall whole concept, direction & the cast. Yeah ^_^

I honestly dislike this collection as well as the styling too much to even appreciate this advertisement. And it's the same case with the previous one. Good photography is not enough to salvage the hideous clothes.

Once again a fantastic LV campaign. Seems like Meisel can do no wrong with that house. I really like the checkers theme and I loved the collection as well.
If only the cast was a bit better.

I slightly like it. Not crazy about it. It kinda looks like something someone could easily make on polyvore with runway pictures from the show and a checkered background.

Also, why did they make an ad for those hideous shoes?

Looks like a third rate Balenciaga campaign. Dislike the collection, hair and most of the cast personally.

I like it, but my eyes hurt to look at it. :ninja:
I think I'm just gonna have to accept the fact that this collection is always going to give me a migraine if I look at too many pieces at once, even if I like it.

So it's: (L)Janice Alida - Athena Wilson - ? - Magdalena Jaesk - Ji Hye Park - Tian Yi - Ruby Jean Wilson - Nastya Kusakina (R)
right?
I wonder who the last unknown girl is...

Very eyecatching in a good way, I also feel Prada shimmering through, but that's ok. I quite like the boldness, makes it appealing to me.

PARIS — Artist Daniel Buren, who created the yellow checkerboard set for Louis Vuitton’s spring fashion show in Paris in October, created a similarly graphic backdrop for the French brand’s next fashion campaign, slated to break in February issues.

Photographer Steven Meisel, who shot the ads in a New York studio, was seeing double as Vuitton artistic director Marc Jacobs chose top young models in twins to heighten “the message of repetition and the repetition of patterns.” Jacobs noted that his collection was inspired by one of Buren’s most famous works — the striped columns of different heights in Palais Royal, known as Les Deux Plateaux — and played with Vuitton’s famous Damier check.

Buren said it was his first such collaboration with a fashion brand, and he was impressed with the speed of the industry. “Some of my projects take years to complete, so this was new for me,” he mused.

The checks don’t stop there. Buren has also been tapped to do window displays for select Vuitton boutiques, timed for the arrival of the ready-to-wear collection in March.

I couldn't care less about the cast, but one thing I know is that I love the composition and set design. As GivenchyHomme said, it is remniscent of the Prada campaign but with the checkboard motif this one looks cuter and lighter. I'm sure it will look really good on the double-page in glossy paper and that's enough for me.

Im sorry but this could have been shot at the show and all of this campaign reminds me Prada fantasy lookbook.
Im not sure yet...I dont hate it but its by far worst than last season.

I don't like it but I wouldn't like it whichever way they did the campaign because the collection itself was horrendous imo. Sixties fashion just isn't my cup of tea, the shapeless unflattering trend has got to go. Marc needs to go back to the fifties like he did in Fall 2010.
