Louise Trotter - Designer, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta

Bottega is a luxury brand. It’s maybe the only difference with her previous tenures. But essentially, it requires the same level of quality and design. What will be new for her will be the pressure to deliver It accessories but then again at Joseph the bags were great too.

For me Sabato was safe because I remember the AG of the time where Pinault talked about Quiet Luxury. Sabato was a choice of conformity, of a follower. Being bold would have been to choose someone with a vision as strong as Michele. The irony is that they went for that ultimately even if on Paper, Demna’s vision seems to be too on the decline side of the Zeitgeist. It’s up to him to re-invent himself now.
He loves Margiela so much and Margiela changed a lot in his 20 years.
I beg to differ.
LG and shoes under Matthieu have been significantly worse and the quality differs a lot from that of Meier and Lees BV.
I can’t help but wish Kering would go with someone bolder than Sabato back in the day!

I’m very curious to see what Demna will do with Gucci but he won’t be given any freedom that is for sure.
Speaking of Margiela I’m concerned but excited to see what Glenn will do with it. Sometimes I think that if Demna ended up in Margiela ( as Kanye was apparently suggesting lol) he would butcher it

They attended an event in the US where they both wore Matthieu’s BV.

I like that font on the tag.
Rather classic and chic. It’s good.
But then again, Redcarpet is never really a clear indication of nothing.

I guess Louise will probably show her resort soon to the buyers.

Happy to see an elegant label and Julianne Moore looking gorgeous...I am sure Louise will deliver from the start highly desirable effortless clothes woman want to immediately snap up. I am curious to see what kind of creative direction and impact she will develop for shows, stores ad campaigns etc. The spotlight on her at her previous brands was quite low key, so this will be a major creative leap for her but I am sure once she finds her feet at Bottega she will make a massive impact for its future.

Celine phoebe light edition incoming ..... its true i see Davis’ Ferragamo happening for this new BV and its not exciting but guess they just need clothes as backdrop for leather goods.
So boring and predictable
I loathe Blazy's appointment at Chanel but at least his BV had some nice colours (lilac and yellow)

Argh! this is what I was scared of...as her Carven, it's all so boxy... hope this is just a mistake
I wonder if she has made those shoes as well. Those are not very 'her'
It's so strange to have some of your first work but not a vision of the full look

Something about this dress reminds me of the apron-inspired dresses Tomas Maier used to do. Of course, it was styled differently, usually belted but the dress would have looked better with a belt here…
