Yes, she is quite ugly. But in fashion, ugly is a synonym for "edgy." I love her as a model, and I like how she doesn't use eye glue and she's plastic-free. I mean look at Sasha. Not a pretty girl by street standards, but she's such an impact on the runway.

Stacey McKenzie can success in fashion why can't she? In fashion the androgynous look often is the definition for beauty. I also think people in fashion find the average street people's standard for beauty is BORING, therefore, sometimes the street people's standard for ugly means beauty, and at least it's not boring for those fashion artists.

I am 100% chinese, I don't find Lu Yan ugly at all, she is extremely mongolian looking, and I appreciate her beauty a lot!

Wow, nearly all of this thread is a debate! I say "Don't hate, appreciate!" She's like nothing the fashion industry has seen, so it's a shock to the system, but, in my opinion she's elegant and definitely unforgettable.

ok. first thought was- "she resembles that sculpture in art class-of a neanderthal"

but then again; she's so far removed from normal that her features and face seem really abstracted-which would really pack a punch in editorials needing a strong face.

unfortunately, those same stong features really detract from the clothes, i'm too busy recoiling.

(i wish her luck though! she's pretty cool.)
