Wasn't there a collection, doll clothes where the proportions were increased by maybe 200% or something like that? Could be a play on that; even if it isn't, there's something really attractive about how they're playing with proportions here. What's happening with the accessories? Is it a book? Is it a bag? Is it both?

I love it. It's really interesting and fresh but it's still really beautiful.

i want a fur headpice!
it's much better than what i expected to see, especially since you can practically buy margiela at every shop in town these days. and a much better effort than what they did for menswear!

The fur headgear reminds me of Ivatan tribe's "Vakul" in Batanes, Philippines  so uncanny

are the wigs a play on the fur wigs desirée heiss and ines kaag from bless did for him back in '97? hmm...i'm not sure about this though. the trouser-shape could be clever except i believe rei already did that shape way back when in the mid-90's. still looks rather redundant to me and that's not very MMM at all. if they want to keep that spirit perhaps some fresher ideas?

Exactly. I actually enjoy this collection if I purposely ignore the fact that it's supposed to be a representation of MMM's aesthetic. It most certainly is not. It's far too literal and regressive to truly convey the essence of MMM's p-o-v but it's not completely terrible. It's just trite and accessible.

They're really trying to please his devotees by reharshing his aesthetic and hanging on to his signatures so dearly. I must admit it's actually a much better collection than last spring, and I'm liking a lot of the garments but indeed it's missing the spirit that is so irreplacable.

the python perfecto is beautiful.
it has lost some edge, but it's still interesting.
i like how the pants stand by themselves

i think its pretty good , in fact i really love some pieces , the pants are very interesting .

some looks (leather top, velvet skirt, high boots) look too Prada for me

those skirts make the girls look like they fell into a trashcan

the fur headpieces and the red jacket with the oversized sleeves are an editorial dream

Wow. I was fully expecting this to be another "why are they still bothering?" collection at MMM but they seem to have pulled it back in and this is not bad at all compared to last season.

why do i have the feeling renzo rosso sat this design team down and made them an offer they couldn't refuse?! seriously, once we get over the fact that martin margiela didn't design this collection, it has some pretty good merits on its own. now, we haven't seen hussein chalayan's offerings yet, but this strikes me as the most wearable and conceptual offerings we've seen from this house since the man himself left. those pants are a DREAM for a fashionable woman to wear to a conservative event....under a fur natch.

this version of margiela can be acceptable
these pieces are stunning, some of them are really good
leather usage and dresses are well done
very impressive
