Gah! My eyes! What is that?

The sad part is that if she would just remove/replace a layer or two, it would be a perfectly serviceable gym-going outfit. Not revolutionary or groundbreaking, but not... that.

MK? Ash? MK? Ash? MK? Ash? MK? Ash? MK? Ash?

now i'm so confused! hahaha, but it's truly horrible!

I like what she's wearing. The coat is fantastic, the colours of the scarf and the sunglasses really mix well. I just wish she'd stop with those awful trainers

Ashley's look reminds of this editorial in the newest W:

The whole editorial featured Nike trainers styled in that way.

There's something about trainers that are tied and aren't tied (like when people tuck the laces into the shoes).

When they're tied, I feel like maybe Ash came from the gym.
If they weren't, I feel the trainers might be a really pricy/nice pair.

 Does this make sense to anyone else besides me?

^You mean that if her trainers are tied, it means that she went to the gym.
And if they're not, it would mean that she just wears her trainers like any other shoes...? uh it might not be your point but I think I got it. Anyway, she seems to like her trainers!

Trainers are okay. If you are doing training.
But, like Paris Hilton, wearing them like any Other shoes is ugly, IMO. There are so many Nice shoes, Why wearing trainers?!

perhaps with jeans and a different pair of shoes, ashley's look would be nice! i love her sunglasses though and the fur peaking through

You know, I don't find anything wrong with this outfit. If you look at the girl to her right, she's in running tights and sneakers so obviously they were either going to or coming from a work out. I don't know whether to be appalled at the fact that you all are criticizing her workout gear, or just disappointed that none of you can really recognize it. At least she's getting some fitness in, sure heels and jeans would look nice, but um hello- we're not mariah carey here, we don't run on a treadmill in 7 inch platform heels. Just sayin'

She looks adorable. Yeah, the pants are short, but they're sweatpants so who really gives a rats ***.

I don't have a problem with the workout gear. I actually don't mind when she wears casual/unfashionable clothes, and I'm probably the only person in this thread who doesn't hate the corduroys. Whether or not she's going to the gym, she can wear whatever workout gear she wants. The issues I have are:

1. That expensive-looking moderately dressy coat, which would normally be a nice thing to wear,
2. on top of fur,
3. on top of gym-wear,
4. all topped off with a(n otherwise perfectly nice) scarf that adds so much volume that it looks like she's wearing a tray around her neck.

Seriously, if you (general you, not specific you) saw random person dressed like that walking down the street, would you really think that she looked good? I'm not saying they have to look fashionable all of the time, or even some of the time, but if you're going to the gym and don't care about looking fashionable, you throw a sweater on on top your gym clothes instead of fur and chunky scarf and a full-length coat. You know, like the girl walking next to her, who happens to look perfectly fine. If she's dressed for the gym, then the layers on top of her gym clothes are more than a little ridiculous.

Heh, apparently my feelings about this outfit are very strong.

.

You're not alone in the corduroys "love",and I actually love the fact that they are probably 10 years old and she still wears them.

as for her workout outfit, I too don't have a problem with it except for the scarf, it seems too much, the rest looks practical and confy something you would expect some to wear while going to work out.

as for the fur, I've seen a lot of mentions (not just on this forum on other sites and in the article) that the fur is one of the layers that Ashley is wearing, but if I'm seeing this picture right, the fur is part of the jacket not something she's wearing under it.

My people! Or person, I guess, since we are but two. Though I bet if you made people take lie detector tests before they said they hated it, our numbers might expand to five. I love corduroys to begin with, but just the fact that they look different from what everyone else is wearing makes me love them.

Ah, see, she looks so much better there, though the fur collar can still go. It looks folded under in the pics upthread, which really really does not help, but I guess the main culprit really is the scarf.

Cheepmunk, I love the corduroys too! Mostly because they're something I can afford. And I'm with you, MaybeJaded, the fur looks like the collar to the coat (and where I'm from it's cold so I throw on my wool coats over my work out gear too!). So, maybe that's why it bothers me so much. I mean, yeah, she could afford a more "sporty" jacket, but hey, it's whatever is warm and cozy. Plus, they've both been recorded saying "with a nice coat you can wear anything under it and still be dressed decently" so maybe this is just an extension of that philosophy.

I think I just get defensive about it when people are saying she needs to change her whole outfit and not wear the pants and the shoes. I agree that the fur and scarf are overboard, but it's her style- they get glitzy no matter the occasion. I was more irritated by the people who were saying she needed to change her pants and shoes to be more stylish. (Hence the Mariah Carey analogy.)

Overall, downgrade the coat- get rid of the scarf- and WHABAM! you've got yourself a decent workout outfit.

Sometimes I'd love to be a celebrity and have my own TFS thread. The reason? So I could read passionate discussions about what I wore when I went to the gym
