that's what I keep thinking... Ashley has lost a lot of weight over the past year as well, just not quite as much. I'm sure they both have a lot of the same eating/substance issues since they do almost everything together... just MK may take it to the extreme.

I'm quite worried about some of the overly liberal attitudes to 'Weed' on this thread - Cannabis is highly carcenogenic, can cause physchosis, paranoid szichophrenia and permanent damage to the memory. A survey at King's College concluded that if you used Cannabis on a casual basis by the age of 15 you would be 450% more likely to develop pyschosis. 8-10 percent of all Cannabis users develop both physchological and pysiological addiction to the drug and one tenth of all people in rehab are there for Cannabis. Just because it's not as addictive don't assume it's not addictive at all.

As for the news - rich, famous people addicted to Coke, eh? Never heard that one before...

In comparison, marijuana isn't nearly as bad as cocaine is. It's also more widely used, and even though it can cause negative effects for constant users, it's not as bad as cocaine or heroin.

I don't condone the use of drugs, any drugs, to get high, but I'd rather know someone who did pot occasionally than someone who would snort coke or anything else.

Of course, a lot of the world's perceptions come from the fact that there is less of a stigma on marijuana than there is on cocaine and heroin - after all, it's been approved for use on a medical basis, etc, but harder drugs are never suggested as so, as they do not have the medicinal benefits that marijuana may or may not have, depending on whatever studies you read.

How the heck did this thread become a marijuana issue :unsure:

By the way, for guys who smoke weed. It can make you impotent.

That is why I made my boyfriend stop. Although I think he does it behind my back :angry:

:: laughs ::

I think it'd take a while before he'd become impotent.

:)

Hopefully it wont happen when I'm around :lol:

I'm a little pervy this evening

I can't remember which it was, but either heroin or cocaine is not physically addictive. Psychologically addictive yes, very, but not physically, like crystal meth.

heroin is definitely physically addictive... that's why your body gets physically ill when you stop or withdraw

I think I've heard that argument made about coke not being physically addictive but that being said it must be damn hard to quit regardless...

July 1, 2004 -- AMERICAN Media is standing firm behind its story that Mary-Kate Olsen has entered rehab for cocaine addiction, not anorexia, as her camp has claimed. The magazine empire's biggest titles, the Star and the National Enquirer, both published cover stories trumpeting Mary-Kate's alleged addiction this week, complete with photos purporting to show the teen queen checking into the Cirque Lodge, a rehab clinic in Utah. And despite threats of legal action, American Media mouthpiece Stu Zakim gloated yesterday, "If they were going to sue us, they would have done it already. Nothing has come forward and that only reinforces the validity of our reporting. We knew how explosive this story would be, and it's been fact-checked and fact-checked and fact-checked. We have all the confidence in the world that our reporting is on the money." Zakim predicts both weeklies "will sell incredibly well on the newsstand." Olsen spokesman Michael Pagnotta said he had not seen the Enquirer, but, "If it's the same kind of reporting as in the Star, which we consider to be false, then it would likewise be evaluated by our attorneys. The bottom line is that Mary-Kate was not admitted for drugs, period."

I think it's rude that he's gloating about her problems to sell a magazine. If she's in for a problem, then she's in - they could stop accusing her of random things. Maybe she is, maybe she isn't, but in either case, no one really wants their private issues splashed everywhere OR to have someone accuse them of something which they're not involved in.

:: sigh :: Tabloids...

I know MK is famous and all and she should deal with being a celebrity but can't stupid tabloid magazines leave her alone? It's not like she goes out flaunting her fame or money and party hardy all the time. She's just out their promoting their brand. I mean, who's stalking the people who owns Walmart? The drug story is kinda sad. I mean, if she was in there for drugs, just leave it alone. She just only turned 18. And pictures of her entering Cirque Lodge? Man, they must be on her case 24/7. No privacy for her medical treatments at all.

i love the huge double standard....cocaine is a very very popular drug that i would argue MOST celebrities have tried if not use on a regular basis. i love that when the media feasts on people like whitney houston and naomi campbell that there's a certain segment that gets a perverse joy out of it, while when it happens to one of young starlets, its the press that gets villanized.

i dont believe that shes doing drugs because the tabloids once said that they were extremallly sexually active, that they were drinking and getting drunk all the time and that they were addicted to numerous drugs...i dont know...mabye she did some pill or something that makes you loose weight but i just cant imagine her doing cocaine...

it wouldn't let me post the pics because tfs doesn't accept tinypic or something.

Orem, Utah - Teen-star Mary-Kate Olsen checks in to Cirque Lodge in Orem, Utah- a rehab facility for people with substance-abuse problems. The just-turned 18 year-old was rumored to have anorexia but the facility is for drug and alchohol abusers. The facility has previously had Nicole Richie and David Hasselhoff among its celebrity patient roster.

I hope shes going to be ok, im glad shes getting the help she needs...she is a human being after all :flower:

maybe thats just a bad pic but she looks sick and sad in that one.

I never understood why some people make problems for themselves. I honestly thinks Mary Kate is one of those types. I mean I know she has issues but she seriously has the money to go to a theripst etc. Seriously. If shes tired of "hollywood" they need to stop comin out with those teenybopper movies and live out of the "hollywood spotlight".
