It still doesn't mean that money solves problems. That's all I'm saying. Just because they have money doesn't mean they're not human and can't have the same issues that anyone else can have. If that were so, than diseases would only strike the poor and not the rich...problems are not disciminatory - if it's psychological, physical, whatever, money is not what can stop the problem. It can help, but it can't always solve - that's what a person's got to do by themselves.

I didnt say that just because they have money doesnt mean they cant get ill, of course they can! Mary-Kate got ill because of so much pressure on the Olsen teen brand name. Some people blame it on because they started working at such a young age, I think thats just completely riduculous! No way is it because of that, its just the pressures of fame. Its especially hard for teenagers growing up in the public eye. I'm sure you can understand how she got ill. The majority of celebrities are all quite thin and Mary-Kate just wanted to stick with what she looks as as right.

um I think you just reinforced the fact that starting at such a young age could have negatively affected them! Starting at a young age caused them to grow up in the public eye. With that comes the pressure to look good.

True, she can pay for the treatment, but I was actually replying to the statement that money solves all problems and therefore she shouldn't have problems because she's rich. Yes, money helps, but it can't prevent all problems - like I said, otherwise, all rich people would have no problems at all, and all problems would be on the "poor". The world doesn't work that way, problems don't strike people due to their wealth - everyone has problems - it's only somewhat beneficial to have the money to possibly help.

The point I was trying to make about the Olsens doing drugs is that fact that people USUALLY turn to drugs when they feel as if they have no where else to turn and thats usually in much terrible situations (unsupportive parents,abuse etc). I mean they have supportive parents(or so they say),have money etc. I'm not saying that they SHOULDNT have issues b/c I'm not sure of that, they may have hidden issues I'm not living with them BUT I'm saying its most likely they got into b/c it was "fun" at first and the fact of just trying. They appear to have a lot going for them(as they say) and its not really logic to me why someone would knowing mess that up(I mean they run a company right?), unless it were for fun(they stuff goes on a lot in hollywood), they are old enough to know that. I mean if they have all this money and people depending on them, they know logically it doesn't make sense to use cocaine(hard drug) marijuana maybe cuz its not that harmful.

Money solves a lot of problems. But, once you have money, I would suggest that more things that weren't problems are now. My family fell into money when I was like 13 ... so I was raised middle class and I'll tell you, it takes a lot of soul searching to find meaning in life when you can have whatever you want.
There have been many studies that you're more likely to be happy when you don't have a lot of money because you have goals that are more simple, like getting a bigger TV than your neighbor. One study that stands out in my head was one on NPR a few months ago. Basically the conclusion was that middle class America is in general more happy than the upper classes.
They also suggested that it's better not to love than to love and lost.
I mean when you think about it, when you can have everything, what do you have to look forward to?
Anyway, she's young. It's her god given right to screw up a few times.
I would like to know how people know for a fact or not if coke was a contributing factor. I've heard that true anorexics don't show off their bodies that MK did wearing skimpy clothing because they think they're fat ... so I think it looks like there's something else there ... but I guess it's really none of my concern.
