Also, if she's on ADD medication, I don't think that it'd be wise for her to dabble in drugs, as it would be a drug interaction that could be serious...I hope that the medication she's most likely taking didn't bring along her eating disorder partially. If she's on medication and she loses her appetite, that might cause rapid weight loss. :: sigh ::

I just hope she gets better.

It's not wise to dabble at all, but I hardly think that drug interactions to ADD meds are a reason ANYONE doesn't do it.

When you do both ADD meds and coke it's supposed to have a synergistic affect. I've been told that it's a serious problem when parents take their kids ADD meds and mix it with coke ... and that it's something that's not an odd occurance. I have ADD and my doc was telling me that they actually sell ADD meds along with coke for this specific purpose.

I ahve friends who went to school with her, there is alot ok coke and alot of eating disorders around, i herd all about this a few months ago.

its sad but true :(

For those of us in the dark ages and still deal in lbs, 37kg = 81lbs

hehe, thanks for clearing that up....I was like, "damn, I'm too lazy to do the math....now I'll never know."

81 lbs is insane....I read somewhere that a teen girl who weighed like 87 lbs died in her sleep because of her anorexia :(

that's horrible! i was 87 lbs a year ago. thankfully i recovered from my anorexia and am now 105!

Of course, you also have to consider height - she's really tiny already (5' or something, I hear) so she just looks even smaller than she would be if she was at a higher weight.

mxggies - I'm glad you're better now. :)

After six weeks in rehab for an eating disorder, Mary-Kate Olsen was discharged late Friday, according to her rep.

"She is feeling very well and is looking forward to rejoining her family and friends and preparing for her freshman year at New York University," Michael Pagnotta said Monday.

He had previously pointed out that his client could have left the multi-treatment center at any time. Olsen was a voluntary guest at Utah's exclusive Cirque Lodge, "so there is no 'release,'" he said.

Indeed, the tween queen has left the Lodge several times to be with sis Ashley and friends. On July 15, she went shopping at a nearby Abercrombie & Fitch store, according to Us Weekly. After the sibs bought matching button-down shirts, the gang went to a local eatery where Mary-Kate ordered a frozen custard. The following night, the Olsens caught a 7:15 p.m. showing of The Notebook, complete with sodas and popcorn.

While seemingly on the road to recovery, the 18-year-old chose to extend her stay at the $30,000-a-month facility after four weeks on site. All told she's logged about 42 days in rehab, attending up to five meetings a day, which is still short of the 90-day stay typically required of someone suffering from anorexia.

But depending on which gossip glossy you read, the brunette twin may have checked into the treatment center for reasons more illicit, though the Olsen camp has flat-out denied any drug connection, saying "Mary-Kate was not admitted for drugs--period."

Regardless, the recovered Olsen is unlikely to stay home very long. She and Ashley still plan to attend New York University in a few weeks, where they've enrolled in the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, a college that allows students, particularly of the celebrity bent, to design a curriculum to their own needs and interests.

Im pretty sure its anorexia. i read an interwiew a magazine had done with her father and he said she had been struggling with anorexia for a couple of years, but it hadnt kicked in before recently.
He also said she has been gaining weight now and is feeling better.
I doubt he would lie about things like that

i doubt he would tell the truth if his daughter is/was addicted to coke, also.

New college student Mary-Kate Olsen, 18, and boyfriend David Katzenberg, 21, have broken up, a source tells PEOPLE.

Olsen and Katzenberg, who began dating late last year, ended their relationship a week ago in Los Angeles before both flew east to attend college – she at New York University, he at Boston University. "It was a mutual parting of the ways and amicable," says the source. "Being at different schools played a part. It's reasonable for her to start school fresh." (Olsen's rep declined to comment on the relationship.)

Olsen and Katzenberg, the son of DreamWorks cofounder Jeffrey Katzenberg, were first spotted kissing last December and were soon seen out and about in Los Angeles, attending Lakers games and going to clubs together. Katzenberg remained by Olsen's side during her recent battles with an eating disorder (she spent six weeks in a health facility this summer).

Rumors that Mary-Kate, who begins her first day of classes at NYU on Wednesday, is already back on the dating scene aren't true, says the source: "There is no dating going on at all. She is simply meeting new people and making new friends."

Mary-Kate is keeping busy in her new hometown. Along with starting classes, she and twin sister Ashley may attend the U.S. Open finals and will make the scene during New York's Fashion Week, which starts Wednesday.>>

I wonder if he was good or bad for her. he could have either been:

a) a supportive loving boyfriend who encouraged her to treat her eating/drug problem who she ditched when she realized she wasn't ready to stay on that program and didn't want to answer to him

or

B) possibly he either faciliated her use of drugs (if she was using them) or he made her insecure about her weight and she realized that as part of her treatment she needed to purge him from her life

or

c) they jsut fell out of love because they're young and they realizd the long distance was too much

or

d) I have no idea why they broke up

He had Mary-Kate before she was 18... wasn't that like.. every boy's wet dream?

The workload at NYU is quite rigorous; I wonder how they manage to still go out and party all the time.

Thats a really long relationship for her age.

I'm a few years Mary-Kate's junior and I've had a longer relationship. :ninja:

If they were truly in love they wouldn't have broken up.

i heard the other one, ashley, is dating a 30-year-old restaurant owner....

Hollywood twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have disgusted fans by advertising fast food franchise McDonald's - two months after Mary-Kate checked out of rehabilitation for an eating disorder.

The New York Minute duo appear on posters for the French division of McDonald's promoting burgers and chips despite the brunette twin, 18, spending six weeks in an undisclosed medical centre for anorexia from June to July.

Images of their new fast food campaign can be found at Mcdonalds.com.
