Imagine thinking that the Costume Institute at the Met should be honoring him already....

From the NYtimes piece:
New York is where he started Alyx, something he felt the curators of the Met Costume Institute overlooked when they didn’t include him in last year’s exhibition celebrating a wide swath of American fashion designers.

“I think sometimes maybe the Americans forget that I’m American,” he said.

“You are who you surround yourself with”

This particular saying is true when applied to him and his best friend, Kanye.

I'm genuinely curious if this neverending rant of Ye will have some impact on his friends from LVMH. Obviously Matthew is already on his way and Ye may get a lawsuit for claiming that the conglomerate killed his friend, but when it comes to people such as Kim Jones, I think some decisions should be made because he may get hit by association.

I feel sorry for all the people working in the PR department at Givenchy now, because the last few days were absolutely horrible.

Im laughing at all the people from the industry who wanted to be at the show and who are now embarrassed to post about it. Thank god Matthew didn’t present something that was him. Nobody cared. At least this sh*t show can be merchandisable.

Why is Kanye trashing LVMH like that? It’s so embarrassing and ridiculous.

Matthew Williams was given the opportunity of a lifetime when he was selected to design for Givenchy. This is a privilege that many designers wont get remotely close to purely based on their lack of famous and well connected friends.

The partnership didn’t work out, get over it. Don’t go out kicking and screaming, it’s so embarrassing MW.

Kanye West is posting text messages with A Arnault right now on his IG. This guy is insane and if I were LVMH I would totally delete everyone involved in his circle (Matthew Williams first) and order the others to stay away (looking at you Kim Jones if you want to keep your cushy lazy "job") and never approach again.
Louis Vuitton menswear to Nicolas, if he wants it.
Tisci is out of job, give him Givenchy with free reigns, it cannot be worse.
Also it is becoming a PR disaster not only for Givenchy but also for Balenciaga now...

He wanted the Vuitton position as the self proclaimed « Louis Vuitton Don » he is and eventually some investment from them but they never, thankfully, went with it.

Arnault is clever enough to understand that he can make mistakes with Rihanna but a partnership with Kanye is a liability in itself.

Maybe beyond the Abloh thing, Arnault became a partner to Jay-Z.

I don’t understand the overt obsession because he is close to Balenciaga now. He should ask Charbit the job. You know he will drive Pinault crazy…

you know we have seen this before if your older! Alexander Mcqueen parted ways with givenchy back in 2001 and Christian Lacroix, it was a big deal but he came out top, Lacroix not so much also he was a real designer with a real point of view. all of these people should be out!!!! all of them !!!

There is a story here when it come to the sucking of blood from these big houses, very few are able to keep up!! but this one take the cake!!

He can hire any stylist, from Lotta Volkova to Carine Roitfeld, it won't change a thing. The guy is completely disconnected to realities and his vision of Givenchy is irrelevant. The problem is not the styling, the timing, the PR, the show venue.Whatever. It's the product itself.

It's an ego thing probably ... Am glad that Vacarello does not have this type of ego and just reissue YSL good stuff.
