Matthew M. Williams - Designer

Looks like an amateur p*rn star wannabe instead of a fashion designer!

Girl, keep those lame pics for your hidden gay profiles (you can tell he is one of those "masculine, discreet, straight life" dudes).

You are working for Givenchy, it is not Grindrchy!!!

When I look at the photos, I don't see a "sex God" or even a hunk. I see a guy who is very shy and unsure of himself – look in his eyes, he's scared! — so he has to cover for it by posing as a rebel. This is a sad macho role play.

Oh my god, I got second hand embarrassment looking at those photos. I don't think his first collection was bad at all, but this is trying way too hard.

I needed a "palate cleanser" after seeing those pics. Here is a young (and very handsome and stylish) Cristóbal Balenciaga:

See Matthew? This is the difference between being sexy and being vulgar!

Although he is my type that was the last time I have checked this forum before brushing my teeth and going to sleep.

If he is taking his undies off right after the first lookbook what would be next? OnlyFans collab with Alexandre Arnault?

Give me a break.

LMAO:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Tom and Marc to me, earned their rights to be outrageous because they have actually worked on their craft first before demonstrating this vulgar persona to the public. Yves’ decision to be photographed naked was legendary and sort of a quiet, political protest to the era back then when homosexuality was still seen as inferior.

This buffoon was a moderately known ‘talent’ at Alyx before being appointed to one of the most estemeed fashion houses ever. After just one horrible collection, he now feels the need to cement himself as a crude ‘genius’ like the aforementioned Tom and Marc? Have several seats!

I don’t mind fashion designers (male and female) posing nude for whatever reasons, since it is funny to see the other sides of them. As other members have mentioned all the “nude” designers, I have googled them all—some of them are okay but Daniel’s one is quite good to be honest. Maybe next time they should hire someone hotter, Matthew obviously is not that one. Well, what about Erdem Moralioglu?

These past two pages of replies are the best things ever.

Public opinion on Instagram is really not great about his work lol. I know he’s under contract but I really hope this doesn’t end up being another Justin O”Shea one season at Brioni moment LOL

apart from the Yves Saint Laurent which is iconic and untouchable I prefer the ones of Lutz Huelle by Wolfgang Tillmans in iD Magazine :flower:

A tragedy in the making…hadn’t they gotten rid of their couture atelier (which is made apparent in each show with such poorly constructed garments)?

He hasn’t presented a single good show for the ready-to-wear, I don’t know how they let him try his hand at couture.

Interesting if they really did get rid of the couture atelier. I wonder where they would end up ?

Either way, I feel this will be really tragic.

I really doubt they have some type of clientele anymore (unless some wants to have an archive piece redone for them) so I guess this will be part of the advertising budget…
No expectations AT ALL!

No, houses don’t get rid of the Couture Ateliers unless they are closing Couture operations.

I think a house like Givenchy today treats Couture as advertising. It’s obvious that there isn’t any sort of profits expected at this point.

For me Couture has always been about the clients so, it will be highly irrelevant if his proposition is Redcarpet-centered.

Let's call it now: His Couture offering will be even messier, even sloppier and even more reductive than Kim’s at Fendi HC. Finally— someone will outdo Kim’s signature blandness. He will undoubtably rip off Riccardo’s Givenchy HC, but for children.

Well, the atelier wouldn't be working on a RTW show...

Actually, a lot of Couture sewers do work on RTW between seasons - at least the freelance ones, do.

It’s actually why Parisian RTW fashion has better construction and savoir faire…because the same sewers that work on Couture collections will go work for Chloe, or Saint Laurent, or Stella McCartney, Isabel Marant, etc, etc, etc. between Couture seasons. Of course, they’re not sewing the production units that end up in stores, but they are making the toiles and the runway samples a lot of the time.
