Matthieu Blazy - Designer, Creative Director of Chanel

Yeah tbh it looks like a bag I’d see with 5 price drops on fashionphile. I’m guessing they’re releasing vintage-esque bags because the market realized the old bags are better quality lol
Hmm I don’t know. There’s a lot of misinformation on social media too.
I know the way the tanneries used to treat leather has changed. They have stopped doing the gold pleated back in 2008 I think but they were already selling silver hardware before. If you look at Chanel bags since 2001, they weren’t looking like the 80’s/90’s ones.

I don’t know how they are going to change the perception on quality because it’s not a systematic issue and Chanel is not a leather goods company. Maybe they will have to reorganize their entire production process for that.
I wonder how long made in Italy will be the standard when Spain and Portugal are really becoming very strong and are offering a competitive product.

Matthieu Blazy: Obviously what I like about denim is also what it means socially in our environment. And then there was something that I kind of like because obviously it looked like cotton. But when you touch it, or you're getting touched. Which is kind of perverse as well. Which is quite nice.

Tim Blanks: Can I touch it?

Matthieu Blazy: It's cotton. Yes, exactly. Umm. But you can touch me later.

Tim: Maybe I already have

That... is a choice

Legit forgot about this news, so seeing the thread pop up on the feed gave me a brief fright. Seeing Williams in the nude then proceeded to give me another.

The finest taste in couture and the trashiest in men, you're just like Yves !

Mathieu has the Frenchiest accent possible.

I don’t know about the Chanel classic bags… 2.55 is my all time fave bag, but for the last 7/8 years it has been feeling kinda cheap. It’s like a pr*stitut* bag. I think they did well rising the prices so less people can have it, because it was starting to be too vulgar and it was breaking my heart. I feel the same about the Boy… although the boy is very ugly 🤯

The garbage bag, even if horrible, at least doesn’t feel pr*stitut-y, it’ if that’s a word.

I think Chanel is realeasing so many bag models as of late and it makes them seem desperate. Also, all the merch at the moment is beyond cheap at the stores… I don’t know, everything at this brand feels really cheap, vulgar, tacky and not refined now.

respectfully, he is mega hot. His voice makes me think things. Respectfully. :winkiss::zorro:

I’ve never thought of the 2.55 as a hooker bag, what am I missing here?
It’s like (I don’t know if I should say the nationality) women who love to party in Ibiza, Mykonos… they are “classy” (instagram classy, aka vulgar in the real world) on their social media, they are tall, usually have very sleek pony tails or very done waves, lots of fillers, they put the lipstick on the skin, not just the lips, usually in brown shades… they love to post pictures in Cipriani or in a yacht… they call themselves influencers or insta models.

Also it’s very footballer wife at the moment…

Okay… not to sound like MGC… but I’m still missing it. I mean, I guess it’s all about geolocation, when I see women with 2.55s they aren’t those women, because I’m not into that crowd (not to reveal that I’m not a 1%er on tfs). I shouldn’t say it but there’s something so annoyingly pretentious about mostly male users describing the sh*tty ways they think women dress on tFS constantly lately. 👀 I get it, we should dress to please you. 🫢🙏

I mean, just save yourself the time and say it’s tacky because lots of women own it.

Edit: and you have the inverse of this going on in the Phoebe Philo thread where those women are FAKE INTELLECTUALS 😱

Respectfully, not into Blazy. But I can see how Tim would be

Those Chanels and mini-Kellys are considered the ultimate status symbol for the insta-th*ts cum gold-diggers.
My straight friend has a trash taste in women and loves to DM those girls (he is still very aware of the transactional aspect and prefers it that way) so he is always teasing them with Chanel mini flap bags with top handle. That or any week-end in Dubai, or both, but it works every time, but never more than a couple of months. The lucky ones manage to get VC&A Alhambra or ironically Cartier Love bangles.

So yes, there is a certain association between some Chanel bags and girls living of their looks (no, not the models).
