I think that even under MB, CHANEL will be heavily "black culture / black customer" focused.
I think many of you noticed that in the past few years, CHANEL has started so many collaborations with black artists:
- Brand ambassador Whitney Peak (flop collaboration cause she has never been on the radar)
- Brand ambassador Lupita N'yongo
- Brand ambassador Naomi
- Brand ambassador Kendrick Lamar
- Brand ambassador Ayo Edibiri
- Tyla invited to CHANEL couture show
- Michelle Obama gets to wear one the first look from MB's tenure (we know she didn't buy it)
- Awar closing the MB's debut show
- ASAP rocky shooting MB's project

They even got an indian ambassador recently. Funny, cause I think most people still associate indian celebs to tacky Bollywood / pageant miss universe competition.
At the moment, I don't recall any of the competitors having so many deals with black celebrities. Leena surely wants to push those timeless classics on black women. Long gone are the times when Karl had Willow Smith as the face of CHANEL eyewear LOL.

I’m not sure why the racial background of Chanel’s collaborators or ambassadors is being framed as a key point here. How is that relevant to Matthieu Blazy’s creative direction or the brand’s design output? Highlighting “Black culture” or “Black customers” as if it’s a deviation from the norm comes across as unnecessary and a bit biased. It would be more productive to focus on the actual work, how MB is shaping Chanel’s aesthetic and strategy, rather than who’s wearing it.
