A 72-year-old man in China found himself to be an internet sensation after he started modeling women’s clothes from his granddaughter’s online store for fun.

Accessorizing himself with with a pair of aviator sunglasses, Liu Xianping pulled off the clothing—designed for teenage girls—with much panache.

A refreshing change from the regular pretty, perfectly-groomed models typically used for fashion shoots, people are responding exceptionally well to this cool, “drag-queen” grandfather.

In Liu’s words: “Modeling for the store is helping my granddaughter and I have nothing to lose. We were very happy on the day of the shooting. I’m very old and all that I care about is to be happy.”

Since he started modeling for the web-store, sales has increased five-fold.

I seen this on a news website a few weeks back. I didn't find the idea funny or news-worthy then and I don't now. I find it creepy to see an old man wearing teenage girls clothes.

completely agree with you.

I third that,

It looks like Sissy fetish wear to me...doesn't annoy me that a guy is wearing it, but it's not fashionable...

i dont find it creepy because it's her grandpa and i think it's cute that all he cares about is being happy and im sure helping his granddaughter out does just that. It's something you don't see, it wouldnt make me purchase but i see the humor

I also dont see anything creepy about it, its a girl having fun with her grandpa who also seems to be enjoying himself plus its good for business.

I think this story is totally awesome and adorable. It's sweet that he wanted to make his granddaughter happy and that they could have a laugh together. And I also think it's neat because how many old men do you know who would readily wear clothing that's deemed "feminine?" So I like that it sort of challenges the perceptions of what society say's is okay for men and women to wear. Plus, let's be honest, he know's how to work-it!

I really like the fact that he stuck with the aviators. It gives him a trademark even above the appreciable gender-bending. And reading his statement, it's hard not to love this story: "Modeling for the store is helping my granddaughter and I have nothing to lose. We were very happy on the day of the shooting. I’m very old and all that I care about is to be happy." Just to reiterate ;)

This was my face when I saw that

But I have to say he's not that bad:ninja:

I read this story a few days ago and I'm totally on board with it. You go grandpa! :mowhawk:

This is brilliant! Creepy? Come off it! Sometimes I think folks on these forums take things too serious. Kudos to Grandpa if he's happy. Its not like he was forced into these clothes and photographed.
