Michael Kors F/W 10.11 : Carmen Kass and Noah Mills by Mario Testino

Well you just know they've got some sort of upmarket snowmobile and by God they will use it. Or maybe a high range snow plough. So bloody mundane it's untrue.:ninja:

oh wow, Haterade out in full force!

it's the same old same old, but what do they say? if it ain't broke, why fix it?

this seems to work for the brand, if it wouldn't they would have changed it.

corny, but i like it. i call it the 'Jet Set Adventures of Noah and Carmen' with the question that keeps me on the edge of my seat... 'where will they go NEXT?'

It's like a TV show that's now into its tenth series. It must be popular with its intended audience or else we wouldn't keep seeing it. I think it's hilarious that we could get another season of it.

I wished the label would go for some sort of edgy advertising. They're commercially typed ad campaigns work, but it's been so repetitive and do nothing for the clothes.

given how few shows get even past their first season

they probably shot this somewhere where there's snow all year around...

lol oops, I actually just meant that to be sarcasm, if it's true and it was really snowing there then that comment makes me look like a complete idiot :o...

Yeah it's corny as hell but a campaign's main purpose is to make money and I'm sure Michael Kors is raking in cash while we sit here making fun of his ad.

^ Oh Kors will be rolling in it......but they really need to shake up their advertising. I mean does anyone really notice the clothes anymore?
Maybe in these ads they will, if the only distraction is snow......and not a selection of the finest auto/boat/helicopter toys which are usually the main focus.

^ well, sure WE notice it because we follow campaigns close than ants follow each other. But the consumers don't, this will be just another Kors ad.

I don't have a problem with the repeating of the jet setters theme, but this particular campaign looks frumpy and cheap - it looks like they went to the local high school or church, retrieved the props from the annual winter pageant out of the storeroom and used them as the set for this shoot. Now the collection itself was pretty good so it may sell itself, but this campaign does not have the energy and aspirational quality of the previous campaigns.

ETA:
The only slightly aspirational aspect that I am seeing is that Noah and Carmen look like a happy, romantic couple - that's perfectly fine, but heck that effect has been achieved in ordinary catalog shoots.

Wow is this a Post Card? Eww, so disgusting and effortless! Michael could really use a new creative director and new models

It's predictably cheesy and.. sloppy. I would only save Carmen's expression, it's just too sweet.
