i make my own concealor from:
yellow corrector (bliss beauty cosmetics)
lavender corrector (pure lixe)
pink corrector (pure luxe)
and just a touch of bisque multi-use powder from Southern Magnolia..
i'm still in my experimenting phase... so i will mix every darn color i can get my hands on!

Another vote for Everyday Minerals. It took two sample kits to get my correct foundation colour match but worth it as it is the absolute perfect match to my skintone. It's weightless on the skin and when I'm wearing it my skin looks perfect, but not at all like I'm wearing foundation. Siesta (peach) and Apple (pink) are the two blushes I've tried and both are very pretty, natural colours. I think I prefer Siesta more though. The Everyday Bronzer is great- very natural looking. I think I like it better than my NARS bronzers and that's saying something. The Silk Dust and Finishing Powder are also fantastic at setting, highlighting, finishing etc. I need to experiment with both a bit more to decide which one I like better. Really cheap and fast shipping OS. Excellent customer service.

I also have a few samples and a jar of Meow Cosmetics foundation. The shade names etc are very cute if you are a cat lover like me. I think the foundation shade I chose in the end isn't a perfect match, but I'll be able to play around with the other shades I have to customise it. Also fairly cheap and fast shipping, and the people on the forum are very helpful.

^ I have several blush colors from Everyday Minerals.. some that work and some that don't, and one of my favorite things to do (however nerdy it may be) is to mix colors and personalize it to my skin tone. I also do this with my foundation when the weather changes. Siesta is my favorite

I'm thinking of getting more Everyday Minerals. The only problem is, I really miss using a highlighter (that was not a problem with liquid.) I already use their lightest shade, so I'm not really sure what to do..

Until I read this thread, I had never heard of mineral make-up. It can't be that well-publicised in the UK, or not where I live anyway.
I would like to get some samples, and Meow definately appeals to me, purely for the name If anyone has tried it, would be interested to know what it is like.

i bought the loreal mineral makeup (they came out with a mineral blush this week). its just OK. im not super thrilled with it.

its good for taking on planes though!

i went for a consultation today for a makeup application and intro to Jane Iredale. i ahve to say it was simply amazing it didnt even feel like i was wearing anything it wasnt like heavy or oily ot plugged it was so free. the result was flaswless and simple amazing i couldnt ask for more it felt good too also their lipgloss feels lovely its sort osf minty stingy and its soo shiny and lovely

Nobody here has mentioned Alima Cosmetics. erin_k asked what I thought of them, so here's my review.

First of all, they have great CS (but only around on week days). Every time you place an order they send you 3 free samples to comply with your choices.

I spent most of my foundation samples trying to mix them, so I haven't worn them out much. I will probably have to buy more. (This is quite an undertaking for some people, I've already spent $20 on just samples. I wish they were cheaper.)

From what I've noticed so far, it's very matte, which I don't necesarily like. (Maybe I've just been spoiled by Everyday Minerals' Intensive formula, which made me look more natural.) I haven't used their concealer, but their foundation doesn't give amazing coverage (for someone with scars). I'm also conflicted about what color to use. When I first put on W0, it looks too light and powdery. But throughout the day my natural oils eventually take over and make it look darker.

Basically I guess it's like any other loose powder. It's nothing wonderful except that it's mineral make-up. I would choose it over anything else I've used once I figure out what color I want. (They will give you custom mixtures if you mention it in your order.) I actually like Everyday Minerals more, but they somehow make me more oily. If that weren't a problem, I would go with them instead.

I like their selection of matte blushes. I just wish they had some more coral options. The shimmery ones I will steer far away from. I also got a sample of eyeshadow, which is really pretty nice. They go on dry or wet.

They sent me a sample of their finishing powder, which does a pretty good job controlling oil for me. The only thing I hated about it was the shimmer. They say it gives you a "soft focus finish", which I didn't necesarily notice, just a bunch of glittery specks on my face. Why!? Since I was so pissed about the shimmer, I went out and bought Revlon's finishing powder, and am much more pleased with that. I just wish it were mineral.

Now! I am really very thrilled about their #25 Foundation Brush. It's really very good. I had been reading raves about it and was skeptical, but it's probaby the best brush ever for applying powder. I used a few other brushes before this, and always struggled to put it on, and then I had to buff it in. Well this applies very easily and buffs as you go along. It's takes a long time to dry after washing because it's so very dense, but that's okay. I guess they go out of stock pretty frequently, but when I asked about it they put me on a waiting list and shipped it the following Monday. It's $25 awesomely spent. Even if you don't want their foundation, consider this.

Consider me a convert. Ive just used mineral products [lily lolo] for the first time today and Im thrilled with the results. I love how even my completion is, it doesn’t even look like Im wearing anything on my face. Having such a pale skin tone I always find it difficult finding a foundation that doesn’t look too orange but with mineral foundations I have found the perfect match!

The only trouble Im having is concealing a nasty blemish I have at the moment so I had to use a tiny bit of my regular liquid foundation. Hopefully I will work out the technique to cover with mineral products soon.

Thats the brand Im using. Their products are very reasonbly priced so I think for a beginner like myself its a good place to start. samples are about 84p and I think they should last me a long time

Those I've tried:
BE - Horrible on me, made me look chalky and itched.
Meow cosmetics - Doesn't give me enough coverage but otherwise
colour matched perfectly and didn't break me out.

I've got dry skin so I'm generally very picky about the minerals
not looking dry or chalky, which is what they very often do in
my case.

A lot of mineral makeup companies make their own concealers. I've only tried Everyday Mineral's, but it did a really good job. It's powder, which I didn't trust at first to do it's job, but it really covers well without being cakey.

I just got done raving about Alima's foundation brush. All of their brushes are synthetic, which a lot of people equate with lower quality, but Alima certainly proves that wrong. I would equate their brush's softness with Mac's 188 brush (a very very soft brush.) Synthetic brushes are also safer for people with sensitive skin.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I consider myself a very good Makeup artist in training. That said, I will admit that I cannot manage mineral makeup from any brand. I have tried them all and they simply do not look as nice as liquid on me. Sorry!

I also think that they are just a bit too trendy, if ya know what I mean.

I agree that it wont look as good as liquid, but for someone with sensitive skin, it may be the only option. I also just tend to think liquid feels more disgusting.

Actually if you use a atomizer, it looks pretty fabulous. But a light steaming is really the best.
