All right, it's been two two years since the show took place and I'm still literally obsessed with this.
F/W 09 was such a stellar season from Miuccia, both in Milan and Paris, and I just adore the transition between those two. While Prada was strong, tough and reached almost a hardcore point with the gladiator dresses and fighting arena-inspired runway, Miu Miu was so much softer, relaxed and elegant. While I still see some points they have in common, think those thick fabrics, rich prints and embellishments, it's done in two different, yet amazing way. It even shows in the presentation - Prada's deranged models with the deathly stare and Miu's bourgeoisie girls walking softly through the luxurious rooms of the Avenue Foch mansion.
Also, the collection itself, along with F/W 07, became my favourite Miu Miu collection
ever. It's such a brilliant example of Miuccia's skills to reveal just a little bit and cause such enormous dose of eroticism. Let's take the opening coat-dresses, slightly unbuttoned in the front, but revealing nude back or a fur stole put on a nude bra as a substitute for a top - how genius is that? Let alone the closing head-to-toe bejewelled looks, I'm just speechless looking at them after all this months. Adding a marvellous soundtrack with the quotes from
Madame Claude enhancing the mood, it's all just unbelievably seducing.
Just a few thoughts of mine, I felt like posting it
