Miu Miu Menswear F/W 2005-2006 Milan

I am findin this season Miu-miu really boring aren't you. It's nothing special.

I love this show's look, Miu Miu always suprises me with fresh ideas

the clothes are very wearable but I do't think they're plain
The !belted! cardies, coats and jackets have a nostalgic but young and fresh feel
I've been copying this show's looks to my best but I still don't dare to belt my jackets. One day...;)

That's exactly what I am thinking, how much design work is actually done by the designers?

Of course designers don't do everything themselves. Loads of designers have a homme collection, junior collections, youth collections...
f.ex. Armani
today I was reading about his project of the Armani hotels. That is a lot of work, and he has his many lines, for the hotels he even designs a second Armani casa-line. And he is none as a controlfreak but of course he has, he needs, a big team of assistants who design in his spirit.
So in this interview he was asked (something like) Do you get to see every piece of every collection before it goes into production?
Armani: No, and then I can' sleep for one night.

That doesn't suprise, nor shock me. It would shock me if he would do it all himself. Designers are still human ;)

btw I'm sorry about the two posts, I strangely couldn't edit my former post but I had to say this

This is definately not Miuccia's strongest collection, not in the least. If not for the belts, this would be a collection of pants and jackets - the belts do add interest through contrast-but I don't think all of the belts were used in the best way. I'll be hoping for something more interesting next season.

As for MiuMiu comparing to Prada, I actually see Miu Miu more "Miuccia-Style" than mainline sometimes. I think it's because Miu Miu has more creative freedom, mainline has the burden of every fashion-know-it-not who likes it because it's "classic Italian tailoring and luxury" - so Prada has to stay on the boring, a bit too understatated, luxurious side with just bits and pieces of creativity - while Miu Miu has more of a liberty to go "out there".

This collection didn't really go "out there". It's plain, boring...with a few nice knits and a somewhat good use of color.I'm hoping for better next season...
I personally find Suede :yuk:

^ Im assuming you havent seen the things that hit the men;s miu miu stores....the stuff on the runway is usually quite a bit different from what hits the stores, depending on the season. its really a very strong collection

lets just say presentation then...

Very cool collection. Yes to the coats, pants, shoes, and accessories. Maybe to the shirts. But big Nope to the belts around the waist.

I miss the old Miu Miu menswear shows. A little too literal in its interpretation of vintage styles, but still a good show regardless.

Handsome models, too. Can't say that about recent Prada excursions.

Thanks for posting the YT clip, Scotty.
