Really? I can't see a difference, collection in, collection out. Same boring suits, coats, shirts, sweaters. Boring.

I actually like the use of the skinny belt on the runway....too often the only mens coats that are belted are trenches....and if Miuccia had used larger, more masculine belts, everyone would have said, big deal, she's just taking the belts for pants and throwing them on the coats for a forced look....I agree with Soft, the outerwear is the strongest component of this collection...some of it is droolworthy (but I've always like the Miu Miu jackets and shoes, not the clothes)....the fact that you pair a skinny belt with a hulky coat provides for a nice visual contrast, which to me, came across very well in this runway show....

I have just seen the whole collection. The suede or leather trenches and coats are v. nice:-)

But I have to show you this:-)

After viewing the entire collection on style.com, I think this collections is definitely not as strong as F/W 04 or S/S 05, but I think there are many nice pieces.... Here are some of my favorites that havent been posted yet. ;)

I personally usually prefer Miu Miu to Prada because it had a little more of street edge and becasue it is less conservative and usually some really good flair. Maybe im just too much of Miu Miu fan to look at this collection objectively.

Nothing wrong with being too much of a Miu fan, Hollywood...I actually may jump on that bandwagon, that ethnic Fair Isle coat is very interesting.

love this collection--skinny belts on men offically look better than on women--infact it makes me almost wish i was built like a boy. anyways these men look hot! i disagree that this would look silly on someone over 19-any younger they would look like they were playing dress up and would probably be a happy accident!

It's not the width of the belts that bothers me, but how putting a belt over something is so often an easy lazy trick, overused.

you really think its a lazy trick? if you are speaking about actual wearability its pretty impractical--i've tried it...but it think it can be a very nice look.

As a more improvisational dresser, I've found in the past that I've relied too heavily on putting a belt around things--i.e. to turn a large shirt into a dress, to make a dress fit differently. And it's certainly something that is immediately pleasing (emphasis on a small waist) when it works right. This was just a personal observation.

Do you know where I can see the video of the show, without paying a bomb if not anything

I agree with you, Cerfas. However, I still think it can potentially be a cool look, lazy trick or otherwise.

I really don't see anything to fabulous about the whole belt thing around the waist, I like what jil sander did with belts, made them accents, and focal points themselves

I hate this contrast with the belt, for the rest this year both of them-prada and miu miu- tell me:no good

I adore this collection! I love the colors, it strikes with me a boho rock 70's vibe that works suprisingly well on males. However, personally, I don't find much of the trenches and jackets too amazing, they're a plain trench/blazer/whatever with a belt, is that so amazing? I think the belt adds flair and without them, the trenches and blazer don't look anything particularly Miu Miu besides the one with the crazy pattern. Overall I liked the assymetrical button-up shirts, the colors, and the pants.

That's exactly what I am thinking, how much design work is actually done by the designers?

^I think that depends on the designer/company. But in the case of huge labels like Prada, she probably just oversees things. It still amazes me that she can't sew, or at least that's what I keep hearing over and over again.
