Miu Miu S/S 2022 Paris

Mamma mia Miu Miu, that came out of nowhere. Freaking loved every look. Has the drought ended? Is the pandemic over, is this the sign?

Miu Miu we all deserve. A really good show, makes me think this what Raf x Miuccia collab should have been if it worked healthily. Kudos to Miuccia, she’s still got it, all so wearable and looks very nice.

Miuccia looked good! As usual, totally fabulous!

Like Prada, I think it’s a great collection to be inspired by. We can get the feeling of this collection without buying it.

That being said, the raw edges car coats, the fabulous shift dresses and all the accessories are a must!

The low rise stuff…I’m just pretend it didn’t happened.

It’s quite obviously inspired by Meisel’s “Shrink to Fit” editorial.

That's maybe my favourite editorial of the past decade, so any collection referencing the story is going to have a hard time meeting my lofty expectations, especially if it's not even styled by Karl. Does this meet it? Of course not.

Is it good? Very, I would say. I don't like the more "normcore/tomboy" looks with the shorts and trainers, nor the the low-rise trousers perhaps because I always associate both Prada and Miu Miu with shorter hemlines and skirts. Otherwise, some good combos and the embellished looks are strong on the whole. Weirdly I'm starting to appreciate Lotta's work and she came through here.

Superb collection! Felt like Prada in the 2000's. I see the influence of S/S 2010 with the raw edges and short proportions, and also the influence of the F/W 2008 mens collection with its perverse twist on business suits and traditional menswear.

This is exactly the direction Miu Miu should be heading in: sophisticated and refined. So refreshing to see Miuccia leaving behind that whole infantile, Lolita look which was dominating/ruining the Miu Miu aesthetic for a while.

Sorry, but I love it. The tacky low waist with a miu miu quirky twist is so much fun...
I'm not sure if it will be trending or sellable, but I'm sure they will think of something to make money. :woot:
I don't know it's Lotta's work, Amazing!!!
To be honest, I like it. It's like a twisted Y2K trend seen from a geeky perspective. I'm impressed that it's Lotta Volkova who has been pushing Miu Miu into a really good direction.

Not entirely convinced but after the parade of randomness that Miu Miu had become, this is a very welcome comeback to the origins of a brand which was at once whimsical, sexy, nostalgic and yet youthful. I did feel glimmers of all that watching this show, even though at times I did think the cut-up look was a bit gimmicky, I ended up concluding that it's a gimmick I can imagine a young rebellious teen indulging in and which, in its sincerity, ties in with Miu Miu's rebellious streak against Prada's pretentiousness.

So to sum it up: Miuccia still got it.

Now, was she entirely overrun by the marketing and product teams at Prada? Girl, please, take control again. Just like you did here.

Out of pure curiosity, but does anyone know if the garments were constructed in full then cropped (which seems wasteful) or if the were made to just have raw hems?

Seems stupid to ask but it always plagued my mind.

They were launched/constructed already final lengths (cropped) with raw hem directly.
Signora loves da raw hems.

^ Know she loves a raw hem (as do I), I just always had an inkling that it was a last minute styling trick employed by Lotta via Miuccias approval after seeing the Meisel “Shrink to Fit” edit.

Wouldn’t put it against them if it was a last minute decision to just hack and slash, it just always seems so wasteful to me…
