Wouldn't it actually be more convenient for [most] models, though, getting a break after NYFW.
But it kills the vibe completely. Fashion month is no more, really.
Looking back, it's hard to understand how they managed when even top walkers would do London and walk 60+ shows in a season. Schedule was jam-packed. So many good shows. And so many exhausted models backstage.
What I miss most from the pre-social media era, aside from the overall suspense, is the variety of ways a model would rise to the top. Not hingeing on any one casting director (ok this might be a bit of rosy retrospection but it was less extreme), and it was fun trying to spot future stars who didn't start off with a bang. Also, being "discovered" by the right photographer was much more impactful and a legit career starter (didn't always work out, of course).
