Model Casting F/W 2025.26

Were there models debuting at Diesel this season or am I just too birdbrained to know who the first few girls out were? 😅

Entirely too many newfaces from last season popping up at Antonio Marras and Vivetta for my liking too. So many careers fizzling out real quick this season…

The casting of Fendi was very good, maybe I would have avoided Amelia Gray but in the end everything was ok. What a pity that Vittoria wasn't there, it would have been nice to see her at Fendi again

wow fendi’s casting was amazing. Penelope Tree, Doutzen, Adriana Lima, Lindsey Winxson closing, Natasha Poly, Carolyn Murphy, Yasmin Le Bon, Clement Chabernaud, Liya Kebede… And the mix of new girls mostly matched well but you can clearly see the diference in modeling between generations.

Loved it

That casting was glorious, was it PG?
Yes it was. It looked very much like the pre Kim Jones casts during Silvia's initial short stint in 2020/21, even down to Penelope Tree appearing again.

Interestingly Liya's daughter Raee was also in the show. But personal highlight was seeing Ming Xi again! It's been too long. Can't believe it was actually her in the show.

Gabriette being there pissed me off though
Oh no, don't say bad things about my Gabbriette, she's some kind of guilty pleasure of mine on Instagram (she cooks just like I do too, when I'm not on my own which is pretty rare)... Ha. She's with IMG, this always got me to the point of me asking questions to my self, how do the people I knew there (IMG) deal with this kind of things. Got my answer a few weeks later : my former contacts at this agency are either gone or retired...

Spent most of my day thinking of some comments on Dsquared2 and about Rachel Marx looking out of place there. Not sexy enough or so. I know I have troubles finding a proper definition of sexy but still. Does this 'sexy' mean vintage-Barbie-doll-looking? (gonna quote my sis : "Barbie dolls' legs just look like laid-back cheese"). In my book, Rachel does appear as fierce and fearless, unlike many others, nowadays. So, if I had to say somebody's "sexy", she might be on my list. Pretty high in that ranking.

Wow so many People getting fooled by the PGDM mafia for the Fendi cast...you really get fooled by the illusion of a good cohesive and coherent casting after you see your favorite random 2000's runway icon on the runway.
That cast was all over the Place and typical PGDM: a buch of Current top walkers, his favorites with no association or link to the brand (Selena Forrest...again?), random 2000's icons, random icons from the 90's, the token curvy models (it's either Paloma or Devyn...did PG forget about Jill and Previous Lee), the token trans model...I'm bored by the same formula proposed for every brand he does the casting for.

I don't wanna talk bad about him, especially since Russell Marsh's casts weren't exactly as sophisticated as his reputation would let you think it could be (he's much more talented at knitting to be true). But I do agree with one thing : gimmicks are never a good casting option. I witnessed those days one (designer, casting director) would disagree with being called a racist just 'cause he had Chanel Iman in his model line-up. Now it's pretty much the same happening with curvy models, trans models, and so on. So many talented ones in these 'categories' and still the same feeling of déjà vu : there is one of them being slightly more popular so, when they don't wanna feel bad or look bad, they just go easy and lazy. That truly sucks, especially on a day (partly) spent looking at 'curve' boards of model agencies.

Bodine is killing it!
Bodine is actually killing every single little thing she does. Looked at her book yesterday, was sort of impressed. I used to like her face and now, I like the way she models even more. Much, much more (+ she's one of those who look good everywhere, even walking down the runway).
