Yeah I thought Bibi would be huge, but last season her Paris wasn’t as great as the other two cities and then she puttered out.

The turn over of girls lately has been crazy.
I still can’t get over Addison and Ayanna and those were seasons ago lol

I thought Sam Davis might be severely underage so I didn't bother creating her a thread last season, but it turns out she's 19... unsure about the others who appear quite young.

Sam Davis is a model who I think is really interesting and stands out from the crowd but I can’t abide models that look that young; I think it’s a slippery slope when the industry veers towards that aesthetic. All the Babydoll models were almost/at least 18 when they started to make strides, but it wasn’t long after that we started to see actual babies on the runway…

Also it feels like the turnover rate of black models is accelerating again, apart from the obvious top girls like Mona and Awar. I mean two shows for a girl of Sheila Bawar's calibre is criminal, especially given the endorsement she's had from Katie Grand and Karl Templer! And to add insult to injury the fact that there seem to be very few new (East) Asian girls who are let in by the industry gatekeepers and Paloma is literally the only token representation for plus size make it feel like we're back in 2012. Only with way worse collections etc.

This season felt very odd because while there is still definitely a black and Asian presence on the runways, a lot of girls had diminished runway bookings (calibre and volume) and there weren’t any brand new faces that secured a lot of blue-chip bookings; Athiec Deng and Achol Kuir at least broke through.

Something I’m curious about is the derailment of Ebba Bostrom’s and Vanessa Warg’s seasons: both had very strong debuts in Milan, in shows cast by Piergiorgio, only to be discarded in Paris. Both models are exclusively signed with Mikas and, given his toxic reputation amongst members who are industry-adjacent, I was wondering if their bookers perhaps fell foul of him?

Overall, not a bad season, even if there was much better. For sure, after almost 2 decades, the excitement for me may not be exactly the same as it once was, but I'm often surprised at how thrilled I can feel every now and then and even if I don't follow every show as closely as I used to, the passion remains genuinely alive.

And, yes, this thread is such a vivid place. Many interesting contributions, from a wide range of people (from tFS members that seem to be here since like forever to newer modeling enthusiasts). Many interesting discussions. Sometimes a lot of fun as well!

I feel like there were a few decent/fun surprises and discoveries along the way but overall rather meh idk..

i feel like this current crop of models is just a placeholder and will wash out after a couple of seasons. some of them are gorgeous like awar and jacqui and ida but overall it's not really strong??? i cant see fire in their eyes


especially comparing it to the previous gen which had girls like mona, anok, lulu, birgit kos, cara taylor, kris grikaite, sara grace etc etc - some of the strongest faces we've had since early 2010s tbh


LV had the strongest newbies but im not holding my hopes up for any of them to last. nicolas is so stingy with his exclusives until they rot into oblivion. signe veiteberg was such a waste, she couldve been the next edita 😕

Brokaw's work at Chloe was a top notch. For new faces LV by a mile. And special mention to YSL for the star turns from Binx Anok Grace Jamie Bella etc. Happy for Sora's and Hanne's return as well. Fave newcomers are Libby T, Jacqui, and Shushu. Lulu continues to stun. Where was Bibi? Most active casting thread in ages, thx everyone.

And you say she doesn’t had spark in her eye. Guuurl! Awar floats on the runway, campaigns and magazines. She is a joy to watch. She mesmerizes everybody. And she is very dark South Sudanese/Canadian short hair girl. Let’s be honest it’s not easy for her to maintain on top, and that’s why I will celebrate every small victory for her.

She was born in a refugee camp and later her family moved to Calgary. Last year Awar bought mansion from her modeling. From a refugee camp to Victoria’s Secret!!! So in a world of fake followers and toxic social media… Awar all the way! P E R I O D ❤️🥹❤️

5 years? im gonna get jumped on this cause she has a lot of fans here but she's as stiff as a cardboard in print. there's no question she looks glorious on the runway but for someone who's been around that long you would expect some improvement, she gives the same dead expression as someone like loli

i wish she had more range but im happy for her and her story regardless!

Awar is a QUEEN! Literally the best girl in the industry atm! No one can hold a candle to how amazing she is! I still can’t get over that dancing at the Gucci SS2025 fInale last season! She’s just amazing! ( even though her expressions need help in print, literally ALL of them do minus Lulu Tenney probably )

It feels like this season a lot of the top girls kinda faded out though. We can say it’s from NYC and London being so bad they skipped, but even Apolline who ate Paris in SS25 wasn’t everywhere again.

Angelina took the last two days off. Maybe she was sick, idk, but that was weird.

Though Victoria Fawole was kinda of everywhere, and she’s been around longer.

Some girls really have that staying power. Felice for example still walks the top shows
