Model Casting F/W 2025.26

Some thoughts from this season...
- Agreed on Awar! Love her on the runway, she always brings some much needed energy.
- I really hope Betsy improves her walk because her face is GLORIOUS.
- Where was Imaan this season? She's been around for a long time now so I guess she doesn't need to walk the runway circuits like she used to but I miss seeing her.
- Irina is slowing down a bit, hey? She walked a decent amount of shows in Milan (no Versace again though) but did she walk anything in Paris?
- Adut made her comeback at Givenchy but it felt underwhelming. And then she didn't show anywhere else...strange.
- I love Lulu! She has a great presence on the runway and she is the best print model of her group imo.

In general, this season was okay. Not the most exciting but not terrible either.

so how does everyone feel about this season casting wise as a whole?
I feel like there were a few decent/fun surprises and discoveries along the way but overall rather meh idk..
One of the "healthiest" seasons in a long while from an industry standpoint. You actually had a few models who were consistently loved across the board, and had true "next superstars" potential. The downside? No diversity in that topmost group...

I say "healthiest" with caution as well, since some of last season's strongest performers (Anna Robinson, Sandra Murray, etc.) are already showing signs of fading...not sure if anyone noticed, but almost none of them - not even Stella - landed a single campaign to keep up the momentum. The only exception is Karyna with Versace.

The turnover is far too relentless and I think agencies (Especially MAs) need to steer away from the runway "formula."

Irina was in Brazil for Carnival, which was during fashion week, so maybe that's it? It was more than a one day commitment.

Anyone know why Sun Mizrahi skipped fashion month this season?
Thought about it yesterday. She posted on her ig but no shows at all this season and only one job this year so far on models.com (a show for D&G Alta Moda)
So weird. Hope to see her again soon!

^Yeah I’ve been watching her IG like a hawk hoping she was going to show up some where. I hope to see her again too!

Being a model these days is very unstable.

Addison Soens completely disappeared.
Vika Evseeva completely disappeared.
Last season walked 20 shows (plus Victoria's Secret), this season 7.

Sandra Murray did good, but not as someone expected.

Bibi Breslin did good in NY and Milan, but slow down in Paris.
She's doing great with campaigns and editorials, however.

I was expecting more from Ella Dalton.

Lulu Tenney still the most performing model on runway.
Libby Taverner is my favorite newcomer.

I really appreciate Miu Miu's dedication to casting trans girls :crush: it's nice to see some representation of yourself up on the runway! I can't remember which season it started, but I think Ethel Cain really kickstarted it?

I'm not sure, but I think she's taking a break after intense work and a challenging period in her personal life, as she went through a divorce not too long ago..
Looking forward to seeing her again!

It will be really weird without Mica and Rianne anymore. The amount of jobs they did...thank you for everything Mica!

Just wait until she and Rianne realize that being an actor is not just looking good, (cuz I did watch that bizzare Rianne movie attempt 😬😬😬) when money starts to go down, they will crawl back in in a second. I guess in less than 2 years they will have some “comeback” Vogue covers. Be grateful for what you achieved. Better be Queen in your village than nobody in the city! An old quote. Mark my words.

Anyway wish them all the best. Hope I am wrong! I am proud of what these two did in modeling industry. Like Mama Ru would say: Good Luck & Don’t F*CK It Up! 🥰

I think she just got very lucurative multi year beauty deal with Lancome! So she will be just fine!!!

What do you think that would entail? (Hopefully I’m not coming across as direct, because I’m genuinely interested in hearing more from your perspective)

Something I’m curious of is how much models are paid for each show they walk nowadays? Excluding campaign-work, I know runway used to make up the bulk of a models earnings and editorial-work paid very little. It’s quite disconcerting when you see models who are highly regarded in print like Bibi Breslin, Karolina Spakowski and Maty Fall struggle to book more than a handful of shows in each city, if that.

Massive improvement over the last few seasons for new faces. The casting at Chloe and LV were my standouts. I think Libby Taverner and Claire Marie were my favorite debuts as well.

Happy to see Awar continuing to dominate the runway, she is sorely underappreciated/underutilized in print. Betsy as top walker is such a wild moment — I remember her Miu Miu debut and its been a slow, but steady rise to the top. Ajus has been on a similar path and I absolutely adore seeing her each show.

All we needed was a final Loewe show with a slew of newbies, old house favorites, and Julia closing to really give JWA the send off he deserved. Oh well, excited to see how Dior casting evolves under new creative.

I have a lot of thoughts on this, but I'm not sure if they would be well-received on the forums ahahaha (I've been here too long...I know the sentiments here too well!).

But I do suspect that if the industry doesn't at least learn how to pivot better, that the standard modeling profession will no longer be a viable full-time career within the next decade - reduced to a side hustle/gig at best. In 2025 there are far too many competitors/"threats" that agents who constantly long for days past refuse to acknowledge. Even the clear cannibalization that has been going on for years has been totally ignored...

Models such Vittoria, Anok, Mica they can get up to 15 000$ per show, Awar, Lulu are somewhere between 5-6 000$. Newbies are lucky if they get around 800$ per show. I mean you need to start somewhere. Don’t forget 15-20% goes to agency.

Also I would not say that editorial work is not paid good. That’s only first few years when you’re starting. When you’re name already editorial can get you between 10-25 000$. You fly somewhere for few days, week or so to shoot on location…

Campaigns are crazy rates. Big Campaigns of fashion houses are from 10-50 000$ as newbies, when you’re name from 80-150 000$. But commercial campaigns of high street brands are crazy you can easily mark 200 000$ per campaign if you’re name. Lookbooks are per day, usually 10 000$ bcs it’s exhausting, changing 100 looks for 15 hours.

Beauty contracts are where you want to be. They start strong, 100 000$ at least but if you’re name and manage to catch multi year deal it’s easily few millions.

So when our favourite models are having few campaigns in a year + lookbooks + editorials + runway = in a year they earn few millions.

Always Forbes markes top 20 girls but there are bunch of girls easily earning 2 million each year as Lindsey Wixson, Faretta… Daria Werbowy, Liu Wen, Natasha Poly were ranking 7-8 million per year regularly from 2010-2016 era.

It’s not easy to come to the top or stay at the top but when you make a name for yourself, don’t be stupid and take a break. Use the momentum. For example Penelope Ternes and Awar Odhiang are for years in fashion industry, 5+ years, slowly but surely they were climbing to the top.
