Model skin & body care tips / products

That tip is posted a couple of pages back and it's only for a minute that the lemon is left before being washed off with cold water. It's not the actual lemon being rubbed into the face but juice from the lemon on a cotton pad.

Eesh I think lemon is way too harsh to be putting directly on skin. But I guess some people can handle it..

^Yeha right Ive tried it as well couple of months ago and it was horrible, way too harsh for my type of skin, it was all red and dried out for days. So I guess if recommended at all, only to people with very thick and 'resisting' skin.

^tried it and my skin is alright with the lemon. So maybe i'll be doing that every now and then. Maybe some people can dilute it with a little water?

I diluted it like crazy when I used it, still too harsh.

does ne1 know if Nelsons Acne Gel is sold in Australia???
I have been looking fo it for a while, with no success :(
much easier to buy it online! The product works amazing! Some people seem to think that by applying it to acne, you will no longer have acne  B.S. It's really good in drying out pimples and also with blemishes. A lot of seem to love this product!

Oh my...lemon rubbed on your skin?! :ninja: That really can't be any good.

Well, Im not sure if it depends of your type of skin, but I tried it since I read it in Glamour Spain and Daria said that she uses it after every fashion show and stuff like that. I don't have so much acne but yes of a lot of blackheads(well, use to), and since I use twice a week that lemon tip my skin looks flawless.
The whole idea of that tip is to squeeze the liquid of 2 lemons in a vase and add sugar (the bigger the better, because it's supposed to work as an exfoliating) and then you slip the cotton into the lemon juice with sugar and pass it all over your face. I let it dry like 10 minutes (DON'T get any contact with sun because it makes spots in your skin!), then rinse and finally use a hydrating cream, and vuala!^_^

I hope this will helps:flower:

^thanks a bunch for the detailed description, i might try it as well on some face parts

I think the lemon advice (the way Nani describes it) would work well on anyone whose skin is not too sensitive - otherwise I think it'd still be too harsh

well with regards to the lemon thing, one of my friends told me that her cousin decided they should rub some lemon juice on their faces - on my friend, it left her skin glowing and blackheads were less and her overall complexion seemed more even; on her cousin, it left her skin burning, bright red, patchy, dry and peeling!

I think the moral of the story is approach lemon juice with caution! Personally i will stay far far away from it, as i find even some skin care products containing small amounts of any kind of acid to be too harsh, let alone lemon juice which is essentially pure acid! It's also strong enough to bleach hair, teeth etc so i think you have to have some pretty tough skin to take it, even diluted!

I've tried squeezing lemon onto my skin, and it made my skin heaps worse- my skin started going red, and the pain of it touching my skin is unbearable to even think about. I don't recommend using it onto sensitive skin or areas that have open pores!

All I know is, don't use sugar. You are not supposed to put sugar on your face, no matter where you read about it.

Use sea salt! It's more beneficial anyway, as it is helpful in cleaning wounds...meaning it could help heal your breakouts or whatever issue you have.

Regarding rubbing lemons on your skin..
One of my friends used lemons on her face.. however she only uses the part left of a lemon once it has been squessed with a citrus squeezer..so that it is limited how much lemon juice that is actually left. Then she adds honey to the lemon and only then does she rub her face with it.. it does make her face a bit red.. but only for an hour or two.. and she is glowing afterwards.. I have to say I have tried it as well.. but my skin is to sensitive/dry for it to be very beneficial for me..

It really depends on the skin type. I suggest for you to try it on a small patch of your skin before putting it all over your face. I'm one of the lucky ones that gets good result in using lemon on my face. It's more effective for me than using expensive brands.

you definitely have be very careful if you have sensitive skin, i know when i tried it - it burnt my skin! However i do tend to over do it with these sort of things because I figure its natural...

^Just because it's natural doesn't mean that it can't harm you :flower:

A lot of natural things can actually be worse than store-bought
