I can see a huge difference when using sunscreen (at least spf 50+) 365 days a year - skin is just perfect, supple, no breakouts, dark spots or wrinkles starting to appear. Would never give up as I can see great results of a meticulous anti UV protection.
Of course, the most stable filters are chemicals (Tinosorbs and Mexyrols) but I prefer to put them now on my face than later have any surgical ingerention when I want to remove my wrinkles in future :yuk:
In Feb Vogue UK Linda Evangelista mentions using sunscreen as her daily routine.
I am not going to persuade anybody to use sunscreens if one does not want to, but it just might be an option for a perfect skin :flower:

what sunscreen do u use?

I heard so many good things about Embroylisse, any idea whereto get it in the uk?

I checked the site: www.embryolisse.com and i don't think they are available in the UK. If you click the "international" button you'll see US, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Ile de La Reunion. No UK. :flower:

I use the 24 hr Miracle cream from embryolisse... I LOVE IT... it can also act as a cleanser.. it has the greasiest touch to it, yet once you put it on, it's not greasy at all. I definitely recommend it.. there are specialty drug stores here in manhattan that carry it. but if you're in the UK, you can purchase it online..

i use clarins' gentle all-purpose cleanser, and clinique;s superdefense moisturizer. also--i use clarins morning reguvinating cream when needed, and i exfoliate with lemon juice and honey mask once every week and a half. ---- my big discovery is that wshing and moisturizing isn't enough. weekly exfoliating masks are necessary as well. personally, i have NEVER broken out, and my skin constantly gets me attention.
lastly, my mother taught me the importance of steaming the face---i try to do it atleast biweekly, with a tea bag in the water or mint laves (deep cleans the skin)
my roomie has combo skin and uses
L'Oreal Dermo-Expertise Ideal Balance Foaming Gel Cleanser. it is great cuz its gentle, but cleans thoroughly and is cheap. she has great skin by the way.

a great toner is the wild berry kiehls thing, they have some great products i general (like the cleansing milk)

also--i agree, sunscreen is key---everyday. i use 25 in the winter, and 45+ in the summer, even though i am dark-complexioned as it makes a huge difference.

gia202, is there any special tea bags you use? i'd like to try.

and is spf 30 enough all year round? the best spf moisturizer i've found is the olay one. non greasy at all.

i use 25 in the winterand into the spring, at some poibt i use 45+. oly makes my skin freak out 9the fragrance)... but i use herbal teas with medicinal qualities---like chamomile, orange tea, mint tea..... many of them contai herbs that soothe inflamed skin or deep cleanit. try mint if you are oily.

Gia I'd be careful using so many man made chemicals on your face. Why not leaving it off in the winter? Is there that much sun in Philly in the winter? Also I'd advise you to wash it all off at night and leave your skin bare. Is staying out of the sun not possible?

most women wear make-up which offers sun protection---i don't own make-up. d nature isn't that great---poison ivy is natural

Sunscreen is actually the single most important thing is everyone's anti-aging regime. The effect of UV on skin is very scary. Think about the level of mutations that accumulates after years of uv exposure. People should always wear at least spf 30 sunscreen at all times. Although there are some organic suv filters, the amount of scientific research behind them are questionable. Some people may be allergic to certain chemical filters so it's better to study all the ingredients and consult your pharmacists before purchasing something.

i cant believe people are still recommending that st. ives apricot scrub. disgusting.

and girls and gents, you should be re-applying suncream every two to three hours, and having just a spf of 15 in your day cream isnt doing anything for you. it needs to have a high percentage of titanium dioxide which is the key ingredient for blocking both UVA and UVB rays.

I'm watching the Tyra Bank's show right now & she just revealed to her studio audience her biggest beauty secret ever...Vaseline! It was quite ridiculous acutally, she gave them vaseline bottles covered in crystals worth $100! lol Does anyone elese do this? I didn't think it was good to apply Vaseline, as well as baby oil, around the eye area. She said she used it morning, noon, & night around her eyes & mouth. I'm very curious as she has really great skin & Vaseline is super cheap! I wonder if Elizabeth Arden 24 hr cream would be a much better substitute??

the retinol in my night eye cream is making the area around my eyes dry so i use vaseline after applying my eye cream and it seems to help prevent the drying and my eyes also look wonderful in the morning when i wake up. i don't use it during the day though since my day eye cream doesn't dry the area around my eyes.

Vaseline's a wonder-product. I apply it every night on my lips, and apparently if you apply them to your eyes/eyelashes, it makes them grow longer. I'm trying this out for a month and seeing if I notice any differences ^_^

^ Really? I think I'm going to try it out for a bit & see if I like it. Thanks for the responses!

That reminds me of the movie "Shallow Hal" when he puts gunks of Vaseline on his eyes to make it look like he had pink eye.

I am a big fan of Vaseline as well. I have it on my desk at work with me right now. My greatfather used to wear it all the time and never had any wrinkles (and lived to be 92, although I doubt THAT had to do with the Vaseline! LOL.)

St Ives scrub is soo rough for the face but I love to have the tub on standby for my body, I guess some people don't feel that an exfoliator is efficient unless they can really feel it!

I use Vaseline under my eyes at night it stops puffiness and dark circles, my grandma used it on her face at night she has no wrinkles...that's part genes but also the fact that Vaseline keeps the moisture in; IMO Eight Hour Cream is just an expensive version because if I'm not mistaken the main ingredient is petrolatum.
