Model skin & body care tips / products

^True but at least if you use natural products you mostly know what excatly it is in them that isnt good for your skind and dont have to make a wild guess out of the 3000 ingredients in the store-bought products  Every products have their pros and cons I guess

I'm a model so I guess I can share my skin tips in here,
I use cetaphil for daily face washing or cucumber make-up wipes after a late night shoot
when im too tired to wash my make-up off proply :-/
I use Clarins scrub once a week, and on occasion 'extract' blemishes and close with ela bache estringent (gods gift)
Oh and for moisturising 'Simple' face moisturiser

:-) hope I helped someone.

couture.gab: Thank you so much for sharing that! What brand are the cucumber make up wipes from?

so i can't use sugar on my face?
i'd like to try making my own face scrub.
so should i use sea salt?

dont use sea salt :(
experts say the best is to mix some oatmeal flakes with honey.
i do it once a week and it is REALLY great. makes your skin baby-bum soft.

oh, and about the lemon. DON'T do it if your skin is dry. that's my tip. I have sensitive skin but it's not dry, so when i rub it in my face it just hurts a bit and turns red, but thats ok, what would you expect of an acid? after a while it stops and i wash it off, my skin glows. :flower:

PONY RYDER: What products do you prefer?
ALI MICHAEL: I love Origins products. I use the Checks and Balances face-wash and A Perfect World moisturizer and eye cream. I have really sensitive skin but I've used this stuff for years and I love it. I also occasionally use a face-mask made only of azuki beans, rice bran and soybeans ground together. For body, I use a natural exfoliating scrub from Sabon in NYC in the shower and moisturize every day with organic avocado oil and a shea butter cream. I also have a total obsession with lip balm.

I was thinking, I got like very very sensitive skin with quite a few occassional breakouts and enlarged pores, so my dermatologist gave me this series of very natural products, free of any chemical or artificial ingredients (the brand is called 'Rosel heim', but I think its only available in Germany). They obviously do not harm my skin, dry it out or anything for that matter but at the same time, it doesnt really do anything against my breaktouts. Im using the product for like 3 months now, but my skin hasnt really improved. She also said that anything like peelings or cremes/lotions/wash gels with acid, even the tiniest amount, 'destroy' your upper skin layers and make your skin condition even worse.
But I was wondering, I mean like 9 out of 10 models say in interviews that they do use peelings, and they obviously have the perfect skin.
From your experiences, would you say that I should stick to those products (and the dermatologist) or go for smth sensitive, but also smth that actually is against breakouts, large pores etc. ?! TIA :flower:

thanks for the advice on not using lemon and sea salt on my face!
i'll try the oatmeal and honey tip.

i think you should switch your dermatologist, cold_sun, haha i'm jut being honest, it's good to change your doctor once in a while, until you find the one that really helps you. IMO.
And a homemade recipe to tighten your pores is to pour a beaten egg white and leave it to dry. it's great.

Models giving skincare tips

PONY RYDER: How do you mentain your skin (products)?
MEGHAN COLLISON: I make sure I drink lots of water and exfoliate regularly. I really like Neostrata skin care products.

PONY RYDER: How do you maintain your skin?

KENDRA SPEARS: It’s really difficult but I just use basic wash and lotion because I have super sensitive skin. I also hardly ever wear make-up when I’m not working. But what it comes down to is what you take in comes through. So if you’re eating greasy foods you’re going to have greasy skin.

PONY RYDER: What is your beauty routine? How do you keep your skin looking so flawless?

STEPHANIE CARTA: I am lucky to be blessed with good genes. When you come across the right people to give you the right personal tips along the way it’s awesome. Fish oils are great, hydration, love and care as much as you can. Not too much sun. As natural products as possible, they sometimes even costs less too!

PONY RYDER: How do you maintain your skin?

ULIANA TIKHOVA: For skin care I always use Clinique cream, a yellow one. It's my only permanent attachment in cosmetics.

PONY RYDER: What products do you use for your skin?
HYONI KANG: Biotherm! It has many moisturizers! They help me look energetic!

PONY RYDER: What skin care products do You use?
CAMERON RUSSELL: A good really heavy cream for dry skin is Hydra Bebe cold cream.

PONY RYDER: How do you maintain your skin?
LYNDSEY SCOTT: I wash and exfoliate my face everyday and I use Ambi moisturizer.

PONY RYDER: Jenny, your skin seems flawless! It's glowing even! Tell us your secret!
JENNY SWEENEY: I use really basic, cheap products. I use Cetaphil cleanser, and Purpose moisturizer. Drink lots of water!

PONY RYDER: How do you maintain your skin?
LEAH VUKOVICS: I love Weleda rose cream in winter. In summer I don' use cream and if I don' touch my skin, it's perfect.

PONY RYDER: Beauty questions  Lisanne, how do you maintain your skin?
LISANNE DE JONG: I Always take my make up of before I go to sleep, and every day I put on a day cream that’s called Calendula my mom gave it to me she is a beauty specialist so often I get a nice treatment from her as like: peeling, facial massage masks..

The one model who suggests the yellow Clinique lotion, its called Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, and it comes in a glass jar, thats tiny and its a horrible lotion, no one should use it. Full of mineral oil, which is the cheapest oil there is, very comedogenic and not hypo-allergenic.

Clinique have some other moisturizers that are better, like their new Redness line, dont know the exact names, but at last they've stopped pushing that nasty DDML on people!! :yuk:

^It did do wonders on my feet though. No kidding.
Some people use it as nail polish remover and to clean their bathrooms.
