
My point is that this entire market is based on forms of value other than that which is strictly practical or functional; in fact, luxury goods are valuable predominantly for reasons non-practical. Perhaps it's sad to say it aloud, but what moves this market isn't utility.
Oh and about the eggshell clutch. Eggshells are used in Vietnam Lacquerware eg. in bowls. And is coated with something to harden it and make it usable. So I'm guessing that has been done to the clutch as well.

I think we can say Balmain puts a x10 in pricing their pieces^That always amazes me too when I look at Balmain pieces on Theoutnet, how much of a price drop they actually take, It's a completely different discussion I could branch out into like how much do they buy it in at and then the mark up for them to drop it by thousands, not hundreds and then why don't Balmain reduce the prices slightly, but the last is a very stupid question, because the answer is so obvious, so they retain a certain client base....
Exactly, like doesn't Balmain loose money for dropping all that money? At this rate, they really should just lower the prices.
