Most Overpriced Designer?

Lol, would it make a difference if she was Phoebe/Miucia's muse that would make her an intelletual?

Why do you think that it would make a difference to me? I'm not a Phoebe-phile/Prada-ite. Anja's just not a model I like! She could wear anything, I won't like it! I don't expect models to be intellectuals.

YSL SS25 brocade jacket for 8k...well I was expecting them to be priced at 10k!
Giving Leena Nair and CHANEL a run for their money with those buttons...

It's a nice brocard, the pattern is rather difficult (matching the buttonholes, the pockets etc)
but nothing extraordinary either. That should be the norm of everywhere.
The pricing is unrelated to the fabric and work, it's a branding exercise.

Those ones have easier patterns because of the smaller flowers - notice how the boutonnières, buttonholes, of the 1st jacket, are following the graduation of colors to match the large flowers of the motif : from the collar, pink, yellow, green, pink - while the two other jackets don't need color-matching buttonholes.
It takes a little attention and expertise but nothing out of the extraordinary for most of high-end manufacturers.
And still nothing that justifies the price difference.
Those 3 jackets barely need 3 hours of cutting and sewing, especially with laser-cut machines pre-positionning the fabric to the patterns now.

I really like the jacket. We should all get one! :buzz:

Just sharing for fun. I went down a rabbit hole of vintage ysl jackets. There a lot of them on the market.

Now I’m intrigued to see the cut and details of the AV above in person

And they are probably better made, more varied and more colored than Anthony's.

We have tons of those in our archives, couture and RTW.
Those YSL (and a bit later the Christian Lacroix) jackets were the cool mums jackets for going out, as opposed to the Chanel ones, for the boring mums, at least for us who lived through the AbFab era.

I am just kinda baffled people like them again, but I suppose it's the principle of fashion.
