Movies That Made You Think

American Beauty is definitely one- especially when you're about 10 years old :innocent:

Donnie Darko made me think rather heavily for about 2 minutes. that was when I figured that I should probably stop trying to get it in order to save my mental sanity.
umm...Jurassic Park caused me severe nightmares and later on, when I watched The Ring, my subconscience created one happy little dream combo with Samara and a T-Rex hiding behind my room door...Rex held the knife, though.

Dogville, for me that was the purest form of torture (the way Grace was treated) It made me think about the way I am to other people, and it somehow portrays how it is to be a stranger.

Dancer in the Dark
made me think about... the gift of imagination/ human resiliency
Sliding Doors
the impact of fate/destiny/coincidence
Mulholland Drive
I just coulden't sleep until I figured it out...
21 Grams
life and death
America Beauty
sigh, the american dream:rolleyes:
Closer
love and deception
Garden State
about how monotone life is, and when you find one person who will light the fire... don't let them go
The Virgin Suicides
 it was so beautiful... I coulden't stop dreaming about it
Lost in Translation
about feelings of emptiness and loneliness
Eyes Wide Shut
mostly, I was disturbed.. just too young when I saw it I think
Edward Scissorhands
about beauty

21 Grams for me too....
Romeo and Juliet (ORIGINAL...I'm stressing this)...
The Pianist....
Immortal Beloved...
Edward Scissorhands...

I know I have some of the same stuff as Mary-Anne but we seem to have the same movie taste! I've seen and loved all of those, I was close to copying her list and adding comments :D

I love that beautiful scene in Edward Scissorhand where he's cutting ice and it's cutting to the credits. Sigh

the barbarian invasions (it's a french film) - a 'what's the meaning of life' kind of movie

closer - it just made me think of human relationships

v for vendetta - censorship, politics, gov't

Closer is quite good but I got a bit dizzy at the end because the relationships kept criss-crossing over.

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
the virgin suicides - i have to agree with Mary-Anne about the beauty of it
jeux d'enfants
i've been waiting so long
brokeback mountain
sliding doors
roman holiday (well, it got me thinking about how much i loved audrey hepburn :P)

Memento definitely! Alsooo, Lost in Translation, Eternal Sunshine, & Donnie Darko ... yeah.
