If I'm not mistaken, it's her mother Tina Knowles designing the collection...I'm actually looking foward to it, considering a real designer is designing. I've seen her create some pretty nice stuff for Beyonce and the group to wear...

I pray to all that is good and gracious that you are not talking about the same person I have in mind, the same person who designed such stunning creations such as these...

Don't get me wrong, Tina Knowles may be a wonderful designer for all I know and maybe I didn't see some of her better designs, but these outfits didn't quite do it for me... And that could just be me having different tastes than others...

I didnt even know Y-3 still had a show.

Tina Knowles...Everything Beyonce wears is that level of tacky that Versace, MacDonald and MacKenzie together can't attain. She is really good ... at being insanely tacky.

sweetface is showing in Chicago at the lanuch of the first j-lo store

ditto about the beyonce thing......i mean really? what the hell!

Good god! And people wonder why some of our most notable(read:real)talents are forced to show off-schedule whilst never gaining alot of attention...just look at that jumble of a list...they're being overcrowded by non-designer's and talentless designer's alike....I really despise the organisastion of NYFW. Just proves to me that they could care less about their city as a design capital...more like a big stinking joke!

i hate NYC fashion week!!!!!!!! only in this city would they allow celebrties to show their "collections" they dont do it in Paris, London, Milan only NYC because Americans are obsessed with celebrity's, get a life people!!!!!!!!!!!

they already have all the money in the world. why put out a clothing line. they dont ever design them!!!!!! i hate the american fashion industry!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think anyone here is that upset over the idea of celebs showing...Despite not liking the idea of a celebrity clothing line, we must admit that it does bring more attention to the week itself as a whole, thus creating more of a buzz, even for younger designers.

the kind of buzz that celebrities bring to new york fashion week is that of abig three ring circus. this kind of garbage could only happen in new york, a place notoriously known for lacking in design talent and always stuck on "american Sportswear" fashion is truly international and new york fashion week is not very supportive of the avant garde, look at the designers that have made it here in the last four or five years, zac posen, doo ri, richard chai, jeffrey chow , derek lam, mary ping etc. no disrespect to them i think they are all talented but the only truly avant garde designers to be successful here lately is as four (now as three), what happen to patrik rzepsky , liz collins, elisa jiminez, benjamin cho, zam barrett, morteza saifi(out of business), patricia ayres etc? dont they need support too?
why do you believe adrover had to leave new york, if j.lo, beyonce and all these other celibrities so want to be in fashion why dont they support talented struggling designers,

that would be so funny to protest against the celebrity fashion shows
they would be horrified

but seriously, people actually buy that sh*t .... thats the worst part

Oh Zamb, that's a really good point. Tess Giberson,Libertine,Cloak and Rachel Comey are really the only ones with any valid success. Yet,still, they're being overlooked and underappreciated.

And it seems, most of our extremely talented, have been forced to shut down because of the industry machine here. One minute they're praised, next nothing is being said. Remember Daphne and Nicole of Bruce? They're now out of business,I believe. Or Company of Unorganized People(great knitwear talent!!)..I know she's been having financial problems. Susan Cianciolo-perhaps our most revolutionary in ages-since returning to designing she's actually focusing her work towards Japan and Europe.
