Marc Jacobs always was more upfront with his dealing with the underbelly of society (verry nyc andy , halston etc ) and his grunge fashion etc being in nyc etc was not so off.....following his new fit and tattooed self version at LV post rehab fat marc, berking beach mark with toy bf ....etc etc but still he did also things with quality at the same time in his work.
i have more respect for him even if it's not my thing.
Ng he is bit more snob closeted gay intelectual and the flesh is weak i am sure he saw something in that spanish blogger and its fine but to pretend to be discreet is bit performative.
Marc married the guy he loves and is living his best live and being his best queer self even if its annoying people it think it more honest and honorable way.
As I said earlier, for me it’s more a question of natural association than lifestyle. Nobody is surprised if two people from the same industry actually date each other. My original comment was for the member who found it odd that he would date a blogger. They are in the same industry so it’s not odd to me.
The list of designers dating each others, Art directors dating stylists or designers, industrials of fashion dating designers or executives dating designers in this industry, straight or gay is endless.
I think for Marc, it was different because he was able to live a different lifestyle. Both are completely able to live the life they wants and to find the people who suits them. I don’t think NG’s current BF is working in the industry and his lifestyle allows him maybe to meet people from those others milieux.
And I say it without any judgement on his life.
It may seem more odd to see a designer with a PS, regardless of the fact that it’s Marc, but just because on the first hand, it’s not a common association.
But even that, Karl Lagerfeld and Jacques de Bascher were an odd couple on paper. But they worked and loved each other…
