No mascara

i love the no mascara look, and the no lashes look as well. That's why I absolutely love the asian eyes. I have dark long lashes that are ****ing annoying, they keep getting into my eyes somehow. I only curl them to try to stop them to get into my eyes, and clear mascara to keep them behaved.

I have to wear mascara-as my lashes are so light. When I don't-I will always, always, have someone ask me if I'm sick or not feeling well. I have blonde hair and blue eyes-so my lashes are really light...

^ Ida came with my bf, lol it's hilarious. Although I must admit I love his lashes

On mascara itself, if you put a full eyeshadow look on with eyeliner etc I think mascara is the needed finishing touch. Other than that my basic look doesn't involve mascara, just concealer, bronzer, illuminator and curl the lashes. I think it looks stunningly natural. I'm always so shocked when I just curl them, a dramatic difference and I think simple/pretty!

I also hate the idea of putting mascara on then having to take it off, say if I'm not going anywhere special, but I don't wear makeup during the week anyway.

It happened once to look uglier with mascara on...it depends on which mascara you put on
I put the dior blackout too much and ugh I felt so ugly that morning *cries*

my lashes are dark and not too short but I'm always wearing mascara, mostly one with a "natural" effect, it's a must for me

nope, i need mascara. every day. i'd love to dye the eyelashes so i wouldnt have to use mascara each day but im too scared having someone so close my eyes :D
my eyelashes are light brown and without mascara the eyes look small and tired... sigh.

Mascara to me is such a pain, they always go clumpy and flakey on my eyes and I find it makes me eyelashes get very brittle and fall out.
I started tinting my lashes and I'm never going back, all I have to do is curl them in the morning. It doesn't make your lashes look like they do with mascara, just naturally dark. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who already has darker lashes because you probably won't notice much of a difference.

Does anyone know of a good lash conditioner though? I tried using a clear mascara but it weighed my lashes down and got in my eyes. I just used the maybelline one though so maybe if I went with a more expensive one it would be better?

talika lipocils is meant to be a pretty good eyelash conditioner. I think that it guarantees eyelash growth as well.

Just based on reading everyone's responses, it seems like we're divided into two camps.

Those with already naturally long dark lashes are open to the no-mascara look on themselves, and those with naturally light and/or short lashes can't leave home without it. Makes perfect sense, but it think it's definitely a look for an as-needed basis. Some of us just need it or our are invisible.

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence right? One roommate I had had such long full dark lashes that she honestly did look clownish or at least like she was wearing false lashes fit for theater makeup if she wore mascara. Of course I was jealous since I am in the needs-mascara camp.

i agree with madchenlieben :flower: i love the no mascara look and asian eyes..
here's a pic of my eyes with no make up, if i put mascara my lashes look too black too long :ninja: i prefer the natural look

meana, gorgeous gorgeous eyes!
your eyes/eyelashes are so beautiful!

meana, usually I think mascara is the most essential make up! But your eyes/lashes are perfect for no mascara!

I think you look good either ways...no mascara is just more natural + healthier for your lashes

I have super asian eyes and my lashes basically look the same even if I put on mascara because they're so droopy. I'd love to have long, dark lashes!

For those who only curl their lashes - do they "stay put" for the entire day (or at least for quite a while) or do you have to apply vaseline or some sort of clear mascara to keep them in place?
