A new television ad for Marks & Spencer featuring Twiggy aired for the first time yesterday evening, it has been reported.
According to business news website mad.co.uk, the new advertisement features the former supermodel and America's Next Top Model judge alongside fellow Marks & Spencer spokeswomen Myleene Klass, Erin O'Connor, Noemie Lenoir and Lizzy Jagger.
The ad, which was broadcast during an episode of Coronation Street on ITV1, features the song I Want To Marry A Lighthouse Keeper by Erika Eigen and depicts the models playing tennis and golf, as well as enjoying a cup of tea.
According to Steve Sharp, executive director of marketing at Marks & Spencer, the "bright and sunny ad" could be a welcome antidote to recent rainy weather.
"We wanted to give our customers a taste of summer after a rather gloomy winter," he said.
In related news, boxer shorts from Marks & Spencer were found to represent the best quality and value when compared with items from Calvin Klein, Tesco and George at Asda.
The £5 pants were criticised by Newsnight presenter Jeremy Paxman earlier this year when he claimed they did not have enough support.
