Nylon February 2007 : Sienna Miller

Well they featured one of the Olsens, it doesn't get more mainstream than that...

that's a relatively new issue, I think Susie is referring to early Nylon covers...

^^I don't want to take this thread off-topic but I would classify the Olsen cover as very recent....I meant covers from like two years ago featured better people...

Thanks Mullet for clarifying for me..!

and to think they once had a young mariacarla on their cover...
also, the "in bed with" headline has been used by vogue paris. not so original.

I have a friend who works in the same building as NYLON.

she says the employees are obnoxious. What's the point of having an under the radar-like magazine if they are just going to feature the same people as everyone else?

I really dont understand this mag. they think they are edgy but they dont do anything that diff than any other advertising machine. Maybe thats why my friend thinks they are obnoxious?

Funny, I have issues where they actually MADE FUN of Sienna...and I believe they did the Olsens, to...

Nylon is getting bad.

argh i'm so sick of cory and sienna.
oh well, too bad, i'm getting this magazine anyways, i subscribe to it

Did you see that Britain? You have a new superstar... The only thing that would make Cory Kennedy interesting is that she was actually a "Kennedy".

..but she's not!?

or maybe you're being sarcastic- you'll have to excuse me i'm bad at picking that up over forums:flower:

and to get back sort of on topic has anyone watched Nylon TV?

i find it SOO amusing watching that Tracy girl (the presenter) she seems to be permanently ahem "sleepy" and also lacking most of a brain. I hope she's not representative of the Nylon crew..but it appears she probably is...

Is Tracy an intern?

Anyways, in regards to someone saying everyone at Nylon is obnoxious, I've met two of the writers, Eviana Hartman and Fiorella Valdesolo and they were pretty nice :flower:

wow, sienna and cory! i think i'll be avoiding this like the plague

i think they were saying that Cory Kennedy would only be interesting if she were related to the Kennedy family (JFK's clan) :p

Nylon is no different than any other mag. It's all about circulation and money, and to pretend other wise is just bullsh*t. Their pages may have some art or an article on Japanese breakdancing, but they still pump the same expensive designer clothes as everyone else. Seeing Sienna on this is no surprise, and I think she looks good. Whatevs

Agreed! Nylon gives off the illusion of under-the-radar edginess by using "artsier" graphic design (e.g., scribbles, san seriff fonts, etc.) and American Apparel ad-like images, but at the end of the day, they cover very little underground cultural/fashion territory.

So sad! I used to like Nylon several years ago...when it still had it's street cred. ^_^

^ Exactly, those where Nylon's golden days.
The articles and the little "underground" fashion is already known and not-so-much underground. I just yawn when I past by Nylon now.
