NYLON May 2006 : Mischa Barton

Nylon is so much cheaper than i.e Italian Vogue than I don't mind if the cover includes mainstream star if the content is good.

actually... if i wasn't wrong NYLON already 7 years old, and in April issue (Lydia Hearst on cover) they spill all their covers...

& i think i saw a lot of actresses on the cover... ok this month's cover wasn't good, but look inside it ok ? I already subscribe to NYLON if im not living in far place..

i really hate the styling on the cover...
the suspenders are far too close together and imo...complete overkill......

just way too much going on...
checked shirt with wht stripe down the middle and ruffled sleeves...red ruffly bra peeking out...wht suspenders...multiple necklaces...
just too much...:ermm:...

too busy for a cover...should be an inside shot...
without the suspenders...
:judge:

But it's NYLON don't you know? Maybe you should stick to American Vogue...:innocent:

 Just kidding

The cover is alright. I suppose the styling on Mischa was supposed to match the arrival of summer. I prefer when they use models or c-list celebrities. We see Mischa everyday in American tabloid magazines already. :(

I'm sure this issue has some interesting articles so I'm probably going to buy it anyway. Haha.

I love Nylon, it's probably the only fashion mag I buy religiously ...hee

Although I still love it, I noticed that they feature lots of brand name/mainstream designers in their editorial that are comparable to other magazines (Glamour, Elle...etc). Nylon just stylize those pieces in more edgy fashion. They certainly convinced me to grab YSL eye wear that was featured in April....

BTW great cover... something to look forward to...

what on earth does this mean...
it's nylon so it's SUPPOSED TO BE UGLY AND TACKY???...
and badly styled?...
and what on EARTH does it have to do with vogue?...
maybe you should explain, if you can...

meg- it's based in nyc...
downtown

I actually didn't mind the Mischa article, shockingly. Nor her on the OC tonight. Must be a weird day...

Anyway, this issue was so-so. It was the Hollywood issue, which I'm not that interested in to begin with, so that automatically lowered my expectations a bit (less fashion, more starlets, etc.) However, I was pleasantly surprised with the "Young Hollywood" section. In so many magazines, this means another blurb on Nicole Richie or Lindsay Lohan (no offense to either), but I practically squealed in delight upon seeing Amanda Seyfried and Paul Dano in there. Goooooooo Nylon!

My dislike of Mischa Barton is taking over my job as a Nylon devotee...I'll opt out of buying this issue.

Mischa Barton's editorial is hideous.

It looks awkward and schlocky. The stylist who threw the outfits together is coming from that "dumpy celebrity dresser" category and not from the usual Nylon "stree-wise" editorial style. Not many actresses can dress themselves. Mischa Barton looks to be one of the worst as she couldn't see how hideous the outfits looked on her.

My theory. They used Mischa's people over Nylon's. Death to celebrity covers.

i adore nylon, i've been subscribing for a few years now...this wasn't one of my favorite issues, but it did indeed remind me that the annual denim issue will be here soon.

I just read it... I am not impressed by this issue at all. A waste of money IMO :yuk:
