This may be a shot in the dark, but are any online retailers selling those lace up Givenchy boots?

those would be perfect with a funky black dress. maybe too casual for a wedding type event but with a certain japanese designer...YES.

I love love LOVE open-toe boots, well, specifically oxfords. I just posted a bunch of pics on my blog (link in signature) of my favorite oxfords on Friday actually, check it out! (I made a Polyvore collection, I think they're crazy fun). Esp. since you can wear them from spring to fall, with tights, skirts, dresses, SO CUTE!

Lucky, those Marni's are rly great...
You will wear those forever, I am sure...
Oh softgrey, those are fantastic... :woot:
I like that they are a bit more timeless
than the lace-up Givenchy booties...
The feather ones are also really great...

Oooh, those last ones are pretty killer looking....I could see those working well with the tough and slick thing going on for fall, like pairing them with Givenchy's super slim trousers that are cropped at the ankle....or going in the complete opposite direction and doing something very soft and pretty with them just to throw things off a bit.

These have grown on me recently, maybe it's the growing number of them being made?

It's got to be nice knowing that your pedicure won't go completely unnoticed come fall.

I love these, I cant wait till there is a pair under $200.

Oh, those are really nice Softgrey. I wonder how they would look with some soft cream coloured tights, and a little black dress, maybe a flowy one just above the knees.

I don't really dig peep-toe and open-toe boots, but those boots in Post #28 are an absolute abomination. Some styles were meant for the runway and in outlandish concept drawings. Some styles were meant to go either into the trash compactor or an incinerator. I think I can remember from the late 1990s in which there were these boot-like ankle boots that had open toes and a slingback design. I didn't really catch on to those very much either.

I'm starting to agree that some of these look better with tights. That's only as long as the tights match the boots (so no opaque hot pink tights with black open-toe boots). I must confess that there was one style of open-toe boots that I liked. A previous edition of Lucky Magazine had an entire section about denim jeans for every body. The cover featured a teen girl sporting skinny jeans and these purple open-toe booties. The sides were open on these specific shoes.

Finally, here is an observation that crossed my mind. Could the trend of gladiator sandals (that I've viciously hated) be a precursor to these open-toe boots? Some of those gladiator sandals have open sides as well as an ankle strap. The combination of open toes, open sides, and an ankle strap has me thinking that some gladiator sandals have been a precursor to open-toe boots. It's just an interesting observation about the only kinds of open-toe boots I'd accept.

^I think the boots in #28 are fantastic. If you find them in a trash incinerator call me up ASAP ^_^

Why would one want to wear them with tights?
Completely defeats the whole purpose of an OPEN-TOE boot, yes???
I find nothing outlandish about these styles..
They seem very much do-able to me...
But the good thing is I don't think these will have mass-appeal...
Even though the popularity of the Margiela's makes
me question that theory only slightly...

Soft, are those Givenchy, too?
I love that Tisci is truly embracing the future and leaving
all the nostalgic stuff to others...
It's so refreshing... :crush:

I think tights can make them fall-friendly ^_^ And you can wear them with sheer colored tights to let the color peek through the cut-outs. Or if you wore them with opaque black tights your foot and leg will look like its all of a piece with fabric laced around the leg.

This way it starts to look like the clothing is part of your skin...

BettyCooper, I just have a personal bias against tights with open-toes...
I always have... :ninja:
& imo, these seem wrong with tights..
Opaque black being an exception...
Anything else just screams 'no' in my mind..
But I'd love to see someone pull it off gloriously..

I like those!^
