yes wiw- they are also givenchy...:flower:..
and i agree...they are best open toed with no legwear...they are just too open...
i like tights with heavier open toes though..like the first pair i posted...

spike- i agree...they would be a great combo with something floaty...^_^

my issue with these sorts of thing is that they are SO trendy ...
clearly you will not be wearing them 3-4 years down the line...
so to spend that sort of money...
*upwards of $600
...

just seems really ridiculous...:ermm:...
especially in such an unstable economic time (at least here in the US)

and yet...
it is such a modern look that it almost seems impossible to NOT get a pair and still look current...

* and yet...
we KNOW that pointy toes are JUST around the corner...
even if there aren't a lot of options out there yet...
we are sure to see more of those going forward...
so will these open toes last more than one season even?..

such a tough call...:ermm:
things change so quickly and and people are willing to try far more adventurous things lately, so it's increasing hard to know how the trends will play themselves out imo...

 With floaty, girly dresses and sheer tights. Especially when they have a punky, fetish edge
See this is a perfect example as to why I like them and why I don't. They don't look too good in the first picture but I'd rock them with the tights like the girl in the second.

so my take is, yes, some of these are trendy but the concept has staying power. they can be worn as a bridge from warmer weather with no socks to cooler weather with tights, socks, leggings, whatever. the open toe for a boot is genius and fresh. I see them as investment pieces for my wardrobe (shoes and jackets always are for me) not something I will tire of nor do I see them loosing their appeal any time soon. I think the key is to choose carefully and make sure the ones you purchase really rock your boat and fit your way of dressing. I've bought two pair already because the minute I saw them I got giddy with joy that those were "me". If you notice most of the really good open toe boots are by the more artsy designers.

so, keep those pics coming...

when i read the title of this thread i was like what the hell...???
but now i think they're kinda sexyyyy

i really love the style of these boots, but i don't think that i will get a pair as they are not practical at all. perhaps it's because of the climate here in germany, but i can't imagine the perfect weather to wear them. in summer, it will be too hot and in spring/autumn the weather is often rainy around here.

as far as combinations are concerned, i like they way jane loves marc does it in the waywt-thread.

I also like open-toe boots an booties. I wasn't sure about buying a pair as they can be impractical and I'm not sure how long I'll be able to wear them in the fall. I prefer to wear them with black tights and skirts/dresses. Therefore I decided not to spend that much money but nevertheless buy a pair that I like and ended up with these Zara booties.

I agree..as the weather is changing around the globe we will find a lot more options of trans-seasonal clothing... and these are part of this trend.

And they are classic IMO.

I think it looks interesting, to the extent of looking at in pictures or spreads, but definitely not practical. Kind of ridiculous in real life, actually. :innocent:

I think so too. To me, it's like a heavy sweater with short sleeves - what's the point?

auuww thanks you guys for all the pretty shoe p*rn! I am wanting a pair of these soooo badly lately but I'm supposed to be saving my money for so many other important non-apparel things and lord knows I have more shoes than I need. But I don't have any peep-toe booties yet! :ninja: psst... there are a ton of cute knock-offs by steven by steve madden at stevemadden.com right now.
