Overrated Actors

i've hardly seen any jake gyllenhaal movies so i can't say but i agree with nicole kidman and george clooney. although i don't think of george clooney as an actor with merit...he's just GEORGE CLOONEY, apparently attractive and suave and all that. I missed that boat.

but i'm gonna back Leo Dicaprio. although when i see his movies now i'm like, wow, his face has kind of puffed up... he wasn't on my radar until i saw blood diamond and departed and then I realised he's quite believable in different kinds of roles and unlike ms. kidman, can hold an accent. He has quite an impressive resume of movies/performances.

I think watching Keira Knightly was best in Bend it like beckham. i was quite..hmmm...about her performance in The Duchess.

I completely agree with:
Johnny Depp ( i have no clue with this one. the mysterious IT factor works in strange ways i do not understand)
Brad Pitt (man, this guy just looks so dumb. he made me lose interest in Angelina )

To me, Leo ALWAYS looks like he's playing dress up. I can never buy his performance as a grown man. Except in The Departed, there I thought he was pretty good. But then he has The Aviator where I didn't know whether to laugh at him or feel bad, he was trying way too hard.

But yay that you agree with my other ones!!!

As for Brad Pitt. I agree that he's not a good actor, but the only reason I didn't put him on the list is becuase I don't think he's really considered to be a good actor.

I have to say, Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman are on my bad list as well. Especially Jolie, I wanted to hurt myself during Tomb Raider.
Agreed on Scarlett and Natalie as well, as much as I love Scarlett, I think she's a cool dude, but I have never seen her in a movie where she blew me away. She was good in Lost in Translation.
But I have to disagree on Keira. Her attitude seems to be the problem. In PotC you really get the feeling like she doesn't want to be in that film and is bad on purpose, but if you watch P&P and especially Atonement, she's freaking great.

Scarjo and Nicole Kidman, are good but they are not box office stars and should not be getting half the roles they do.

Angelina Jolie has moved up recently because she is bringing in the cash and proving her worth.

^^ i am also not striked by cate blanchett's performances. and i know people will not agree with me absolutely. but i also dont care. her acting skills doesnt touch me. however, i thought the other way round recently. i have to admit. but after reminding myself of several her roles.. i must say i am totally indifferent towards her.

Thanks Cinthia, that's exactly what I mean. I like all actors of my list (except Scarlett). I just don't think they're that good.
