Owls!

I've been keeping note whenever I've encountered findings...

Necklace by Hawkwind / pins by Happy Owl Glassworks (By God if they aren't serious... :p)

i have this in gold w/ black eyes.
paul & joe's line for target had tons of owl clothing. i got a pair of their jeans with owl heads embroidered on the pockets. i still see owl-inspired things, so i guess the trend is going strong.

owls have been mentioned on the "next skull print" thread - i love them!!
skull print

^ i got it at forever 21 for about $5 USD. it's really inexpensive. hope you find one.

I think owls are being replaced by Whales/marine life. i've been seeing quite a few whale, octopus, fish, seahorse, seaweed, etc prints around my city. Plus Missoni Menswear had a lot of marine print shirts and Libertine's collection for Target has those whale print shorts.

owls and marine prints were VERY popular in the mid late 70s OMG , esp in 1975-1976..esp on tshirts and jewellry exactly like that one above !

this is the one i have, i just realised that it has a 4th bottom piece.

omg omg omg if you go to ANY craft fair anywhere in the world i guarantee there will be something with those little retro owls.

Seems owls are the most versatile animal. You can find them on anything! Seriously... I think owls fall right behind apples or something.

i wonder why owls were popular in the 70s-- i used to thrift store shop alot more and there were always a ton of dangly owl pendants from the 70s... what was it about owls and the 70s...?

a hippie on acid realizes the howl of the owl is matter condensed into a slow vibration.....

naw, but owls make pretty sounds and look cool. the whole aves class is arguably the most physically beautiful animals on earth.

thank harry potter.

:lol::lol::lol:

hedwig, just one of the famous owls in history.
another famous owl, Mr. Owl of the Tootsie Pop fame.
i blame the 70's owl trend on Mr. Owl, his tootsie commercial did first air in 1970.

i have just heard, from a friend who's a consultant for a trend forecasting/pr agency that works closely with all the fashion conglomerates, that the owl will be replaced by emu's beginning early next year..
