Pale / Fair Skin - What Are Your Fave Products?

I am not sure and my bottle is a tester so it doesn't explain anything...

blanc universel its very...white, might make some people look ashy

Hmm, so maybe i rather try Brillance Pur, just shame i can't get it here:doh::innocent:
I only tried Blanc Universel yesterday and it's too white.

i bought Benefit's high beam today! it's such a pretty, shimmery pale pink. i have more yellow undertones, but my friend is very pink (also pale) and it looked lovely on her too - so go check it out if you're looking for a highlighter!

Just finished reading the entire thread! Thanks for all the great advice! I have pale pale caucasian skin (with some acne scarring/redness ) so I've been struggling finding a foundation that is pale enough yet still can cover the spots. Now I have a bunch of products to test out and hopefully I will find a new foundation.

I already posted this question in the Shu Uemura thread, but has anyone here tried Shu Uemura foundation? As a Japanese brand, I thought they might be good for pale foundation colours. I have a few of their blushes and eyeshadows that are perfect for my skin.

My favorite product for my pale skin is a glycolic peel. It is so pivotal to have an even & clear skin tone (I get acne marks/scars easily); peel significantly prevent that.

I'm curious what others' opinions are on makeup finish for pale skin tones. Matte or dewy? I feel like matte can end up looking dry and pasty?? But overtly dewy can look somewhat creepy?

^I'm going to get a series of peels done to try and get rid of some scarring and redness- I agree it is essential to have good skin to begin with so you don't have to pile on the makeup.

I tried out Chanel's De Blanc today and I think I will buy it- I want that porcelain doll look too! ^_^

No luck with foundation today though- Shu Uemura didn't have the powder foundation I was looking for (not in Canada at least) but I have an appointment to get my makeup done at Georgio Armani because I read on here that the foundation is good for pale skin so we will see how that goes.

I did get a new blush at Shu called "Tranquil Pink" that looks really pretty on my pale skin, so at least I didn't come home empty handed

^^^ Shu Uemura has great pale foundations for those with yellow undertones, as most Asians are neutral to warm-toned. I am very cool-toned, so I didn't find a good color match.

Shiseido used to have a Very light Ivory shade that was my favorite foundation of all time (and said to be a favorite of Nicole Kidman) but it was discontinued in Europe, don't know about the rest of the world.

I've also found good color matches at Stila, Bobbi Brown, Giorgio Armani, and MAC.

^^Fabulyss, I think the perfect texture for pale skin is matte in the T zone and dewy around the temples and cheekbones. Too matte looks kind of Marie-Antoinette-ish, and I too think overly dewy can look kind of sickly on pale skin.

^Thanks for the additional foundation tips gasolinerainbow!

I agree with matte in t-zone and dewy on temples/cheekbones... I couldn't think of how to describe that before but you did it perfectly!

I have a question for you girls using Chanel's De Blanc- is this a substitute for a primer or is it best to use a primer (before or after?) putting this on?

Also, I thought I'd vouch for ysl's touche eclat. I have dark circles that don't go away no matter how much sleep I get! I find it really brightens up that area- also, it lasts a really long time. My last one lasted for over a year. I don't wear makeup every day though- maybe 4-5 days out of the week.

steph, have you tried Lancome? Do you have Prescriptives in Canada? I'm sure I said earlier in this thread that I swear by Custom Blend ...

I heard that Lancome Photogenic foundation is good, but we don't have the "photogenic" in Canada (just as a powder foundation that is good for dry skin- which I do not have) I used to use Prescriptives- I really like their foundation, but I need a bit more coverage. I'm sure they have others with more coverage, but I like trying new brands, so I'm going to try Armani and see if the 02 colour matches my skin...

I have red hair, brown eyes, very pale skin with pinkish undertones and freckles. Plus I break out easily, so it's the worst of all worlds really... When you're pale those breakouts are so visible (sob). So, for me it's always been about finding a good dermatologist. A glycolic peel every 5-6 weeks takes care of bad complexion (breakouts / freckles / sun damage) ... once you have good skin just stick to neutrals / browns / greys

I found that Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Enduringly Divine Comfort Makeup in Ivory 2 (C) totally matches my skin tone. God send really.

If you get the Custom Blend (which, as the name implies, they mix just for you ), you can get them to make it with the coverage you specify.

It's been a long time now since I've worn Lancome, but my sister is a different shade of pale & has worn Lancome ...

Yes that sounds about right :flower: Thanks!

fashionista-ta I will probably try Lancome or Custom-blend Prescriptives if the Armani foundation doesn't work out. Thanks!

Has anyone tried Vincent Longo? One of the SA recommended it to me for pale skin...

smashbox has the best illuminator I've tried but I really want to try Chanel Brilliance Pur now.

I'm not super pale but pale enough that most foundations are too dark. I really like mac studio tech in nc15.

Well, I ended up getting the Giorgio Armani foundation, but I was surprised when the makeup artist suggested (and I agree it looked much better) the 'designer shaping cream' foundation instead of the luminous or matte silk foundation that everyone recommends. the only thing I'm worried about is that it's not oil free. i was pleasantly surprised that the 02 shade was a perfect match.

has anybody tried clinique derma white? im quite curious about it, anyway i like prescriptives customblend foundation and powder there makeup never irritates my skin also that maxfactor liquid illusion foudation is really good
