Pale / Fair Skin - What Are Your Fave Products?

I've used both and right now I'm finding LSF too drying -_- Designer Shaping is much creamier and really nice to use. I didn't have any problems with it other than the packaging ^_^

Actually Armani has a new foundation called Face Fabric which I tested recently. The texture is a dream but the colours :yuk: For having such a relatively wide range in the other lines, this selection was horribly limited to orange or...orange  There is a highlighter for Face Fabric though, shade 8, which is gorgeous, shimmery and would look lovely with pale skin.

Well, I ended up getting the Giorgio Armani foundation, but I was surprised when the makeup artist suggested (and I agree it looked much better) the 'designer shaping cream' foundation instead of the luminous or matte silk foundation that everyone recommends. the only thing I'm worried about is that it's not oil free. i was pleasantly surprised that the 02 shade was a perfect match.

I noticed that about face fabric- hardly any colours! I didn't bother trying it b/c there was no 02 colour. I'm on day 3 with the new designer shaping foundation and really liking it! My skin actually looks like my skin instead of powdery and orange! Throwing away that horrible drug store mineral makeup:yuk:

Revlon Skin Lights Skin Illuminator Loose Powder in Warm Light. i know its discontinued but if you have it, it looks amazing as a bronzer for fair skin. not discoball shimmery if applied with large fluffy/loose brush and with a light hand. not orangey or overly brown, more slight peach but skin will just look a bit warmer.

I'm obsessed with finding the perfect shade of foundation... I hate it if I think my face looks too brown/orange.

Right now I'm using Napoleon foundation, and I asked the girl at the Napoleon counter to give me something that would help with shine factor during the day, and the one she gave me gave me the shiniest face ever! That was the minimal makeup line. I also think she gave me too dark a colour

Anyway, now I'm just using the camera finish powder foundation, and it's so much better. It's a lovely fair colour on me, and feels really silky. I can wear it light, or layer it for more coverage. I think I'll be sticking with this one for a while!

I love the look of fair skin/pinky-peachy blush & dark eyes

I've been hunting for a good foundation -- everything I buy always looks good in the store, and then a few days later, it starts looking a shade too dark.

My mom is first nations and my dad is german, and somehow I was born with pale yellow/olive skin, with dark hair, and light blue eyes.

Right now I'm using Clinique 'Perfectly Real Makeup' in 01, but recently it started looking too dark. I don't know what happens - maybe I'm permanently getting paler. :P

Has anyone had any success with any drug-store variety foundations? It's hard experimenting with expensive foundations -- I have quite a few half empty bottles of stuff that didn't work.

^^^ Timber, most likely it's not that you're getting paler, but that you have a skin type that makes many foundations oxidize and turn darker/more orange. I would not recommend you keep looking at drugstore foundations - high-end foundations are usually less prone to oxidization.

MAC of course has a wide range of shades, but the two or three formulas I've tried (though I'm NW15 - cool-toned) oxidized on me. Bobbi Brown, Shu Uemura, and Laura Mercier all have good yellow-based pale foundations. I would suggest you go barefaced one morning to one of their beauty counters, and explain your predicament to the makeup artist.

She/he will apply the foundation to your face or give you a sample, and you can go about your day, and see how the color holds up. If it's a reputable beauty department, the sales assistant won't push you to purchase the foundation on the spot.

Wow -- that makes so much sense! Literally, whenever I try a foundation, I take it home, and a few hours later it suddenly seems much darker and orange in colour. I never even thought of that!

I have a bottle of Mac Liquid Foundation in NW15 as well -- it did the same thing on me, but I haven't used it for awhile, and it's working alright so far.

Thanks for the tip, though. That really helps -- I'll go and find one of those foundations and try it out.

I use MAC foundation and concealer (both NW15) and mineralize pressed powder in light, love them all! I also use Dior bronzer in 010 Healthy Look which is fab, as long as you only use the tiniest bit!

I have heard that the brand NYX makes a perfect pale shade of foundation called Pale. I am going to check it out. It looks really light.

I love black mascara on pale skin like another member here mentioned. My favourite is YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils.
I also think that bubblegum pink and pale pink blushes/lipsticks/lipglosses is very beautiful on pale skin. My favourites are.
YSL Pure Lipstick # 22 Pink Celebration-a bubblegum pink, creamy and high coverage lipstick.
Nars Blush Desire-a bubblegum pink powder blush.
DuWop Venom Gloss Lantana-a pale pink lipsgloss.

^ out of curiosity, does bubble gum pink work with pale skin/ dark (dark/black brown) hair too?

and yes i always love inky black mascara.

Have any of you tried the new CK line? They have a lot of fairer shades to choose from.
I like the Infinite matte foundation, so far.

This may have been discussed, but I want a luminating cream for my arms/legs/etc.

Kind of like how tan people get to use bronzing creams with shimmer and whatnot... only the pale version of that.

Is there anything like this?

maybe mix some Strobe cream with your body lotion?

I'm going to Hawaii next week, and I'm afraid if I wear too much makeup it'll just melt off my face. Can anyone suggest a good pale-skin hot-weather anti-melt concealer? I think I'm just going to go with that and sunblock, and not do anything else.

that's what i do everyday, it works really well and doesn't smear around or look heavy. i love MAC Studio Finish concealer. applied with a concealer or foundation brush, it blends really well and looks like skin, not a layer of makeup over skin. but it's definitely thick enough to cover blemishes very well. the added bonus is that it's SPF 35, so it does double protection wherever you choose to apply it. :flower:
