Pale / Fair Skin - What Are Your Fave Products?

I'm not sure what to wear for summer. It got really hot for a couple days and I went out in red lipstick. :( It caused me to remember how much I feel like a freak in summertime. I'm thinking of using a light pinkish bronzer instead of blush, but don't want to look dirty. I'm also too attached to lip color, but none of my lipsticks seem appropriate.

^ try like a bright red gloss or blot the lipstick a bit and dab on lip balm or gloss???
as long as the red lipstick is not too opaque or matte, i think it would work fine. the key word for it is just sheer and/or shine.
or u can try hot pink, raspberry, watermelon, coral or tangerine (not orange) with you like... that are very good lip colour for summer too, esp if your in low latitude or like by the beach (like clinique's tinted lip moisturiser)
otherwise i might choose a neutral metallic/sheen hue and a highlighter for the centre of the lip
all you have to do to ur eyes is like dab on highlighter in like champange/gold/beige/pink/white (lol soo many colours ), a black/brown/bronze liner (very very subtle), and then use like water/smudge proof mascara.. that should be fine.

What's wrong with orange? It's one of my favorites.

Peach always sounds good, but it just looks blobby on me. :( Except Lancome Juicy Tubes in 'Simmer', I love that, and I usually dislike glosses.

I tried smudging my red lipstick but I still looked like a ghost. Maybe I'll just stick to chapstick and focus elsewhere.

Have you tried red lip gloss instead of lipstick? I can never find a red lipstick that works, CG Wetslicks has a variety of shades, and Revlon Lip Glides, or something like that, is generally what I use for a red lip because it's less obvious. Or, a cheap-y but goody is Wet N' Wild Glassy Gloss in Cayenne. It's only like a dollar, but I use it up very quickly. It's very glossy and subtle, and good for poor folks like myself.

My favorite gloss, in any season though is Revlon Lipgloss and Glitz in BrrBerry. I have very pale pink lips that tend to fade into my skin, but I don't like a strong lip color, so it's a good balance.

This thread is really useful! I have very fair skin and I can't figure out make-up either! The slightest bit can look over the top, but nothing at all.. just looks too... blank...

Most days, I just curl my lashes and put on some blush and I'm out the door.

When I put eyeliner or black mascara it has a very drastic effect... so I only put those when I really go out at night.

A good blush is what works well for me. I'm not a fan of foundation..

Try applying the bronzer w/ a skunk or stippling brush instead of a regular dense blush brush... these types of brushes pick up less pigment and help the blush/bronzers not to be too applied heavily.

I like the MAC 187
Stippling Brush... I also have one from the Flirt brand (found at Kohl's) and thier skunk brush is only $6! (it's great for applying a highlighter as well!)

Hope this helps! :flower:

as a person who have a custard/lemon-y (or simply, blue, i think) undertone.... it is hard to find a good orange lipstick for or just me biased on orange in general (i have like a bright, popsicle orange t-shirt, and i just look horrible in it lol)...
haha but anyhow... im going to hong kong this summer (as in a year routine ) and hopefully i will able to buy some tinited moisturiser and cream blush that would work on me....

That is a good idea. I have 187 and 188, so I'll try that.

Everyone here seems to be pale in a different way to me - I have mousy brown hair (both red and blonde highlights when the light hits it), pale skin with pink undertones and blue eyes. Also, I think I'm paler than a few of you who consider yourselves pale - seems that pale for Asian girls is nowhere near as pale for an Irish girl! Mac NC15 is one of the only foundations that matches my skin exactly :(

So anyway, my questions are:
  • What colour blusher to wear - already am pink, surely peach would look odd on my colouring?
  • What colour eyeshadow? have v dark circles, btw. Touche Eclat does nothing for me. I always end up wearing browns/golds
And my favourite products for creating a flawless pale face are Laura Mercier concealers (compact for face, cream concealer for undereyes) and Lancome Photogenic powder in translucent
Waay, an Irish colouring. I'm half irish and got the pink paleness.

If you feel the need for blusher go with pink. I go pink so easily I don't find it necessary though.:(
And I've given up on my dark circles. Putting concealer on makes me look even more tired since it's either too much or doesn't cover. I like olive eyeliner on the outer corner, with mascara only on my top lashes to balance out the circles.

I'm a combination of British and Polish, dark blonde hair and I tan easily and dark - but I purposely douse myself in SPF and maintain my dead-pale complexion year-round. I'm a pinkie - I have very little yellow undertone to my skin and almost every single foundation and concealer out there looks like yellow facepaint on me. I generally wear as little makeup as possible in an attempt to look barefaced but suspiciously healthy and clear-skinned, and I've found these products work:

Foundation (which I use very rarely!:( Revlon Skinlights - lightest shade - very light coverage but makes my complexion look flawless if I blend it well and use it sparingly.

Concealer (which I use constantly:( Revlon Skinlights concealer Luminous Touch and YSL Touche Eclat (awesome - shades 1 and 2 are yellow and pink - both very pale - perfect!) Very similar products - YSL has a better texture, but essentially Skinlights is a cheaper (but still excellent) $15 version of the YSL $60 product. I would never have bothered switching to YSL if I could buy Skinlights in Denmark!

Blush: Clinique Touch Blush, sweet clover shade - lovely faintly shimmery pink shade - looks dark in the little pot but if you are looking for a natural blush of colour, a tiny bit rubbed in with your fingertips is virtually indistinguishable as make-up. Love it. They also have a peachy one.

Lips: Kiehl's Lip Balm (tinted) - I have big lips and if I wear lipstick I just look like an enormous walking mouth, so I stick to sheer, subtle balms. Kiehl's has these (SPF15!) balms with two different red tints. Amazing product which gives you a gorgeously natural pouty-red mouth. It's also the best lip balm I've ever found - and believe me, I've been through an awful lot of them.

Eyelashes: I have an inexplicable aversion to mascara, but I highly recommend having your eyelashes dyed at a spa or salon - marvellous subtle change that lasts over a month (usually for around $20) and never, ever runs. Great if you're pale and fair but don't want to gunk on mascara every day just to look like you actually have eyelashes.

There you are. My two cents. :-)

I've found an excellent bronzer, if you can call it that, for pale skin is Laura Mercier's pressed powder in "Shimmer". Not too orange, brown, or pink, and it's difficult to overapply it. It makes me look less corpsey, when I'm going for that Land of the Living look.

Pale pinkies you should try Prescriptives Virtual Skin in Real Camelia. It's a blue/red base for cool toned pinky skin. It blends beautifully and is one of the few natural looking pale pink foundations out there. A cheaper option is L'Oreal True match in C1

Nars Balanced Foundation Mont Blanc is very good for very fair/pale skin. It's for those with pink undertones. But Nars have product for very fair/pale skin with yellow undertones too.
I would feel really grateful if someone could help me with this question.
Are YSL and Kevyn Aucoin base products good for pale skin?

i like CoverGirl Fresh Complexion concealer in Creamy Neutral. the only neutral non-yellow concealer i can find so far that matches my skin tone

if youre cool toned, ive read that you can wear orange if its salmony/or has a bit of pinkness to it. stay away from brownish orange or reddish orange!

Jesus, wow! I bought some Max Factor Lasting Performance foundation yesterday in the third shade (light champagne) and THIS STUFF IS SO FREAKING PALE! It is almost white! Yea! Finally! My tan has been fading so I am too light for my usual Buff in Colorstay and I can't wear Ivory in Colorstay since it is so unbelieveably pink and orange to be called an Ivory shade. Anyhoo, I am just happy that I found a pale yellowy foundation ^_^

im using maybelline dream matte powder in "light" right now  it works pretty well so far, even though i didnt use it a lot.... because i dont wear foundation everyday...

I bought some coty powder in naturelle today and it is lighter than the muted beige which I thought was super pale! It is so lovely to have a powder that makes me fair skin look porcelain instead of dirty, lol. Yea muted beige and naturelle coty!

sorry, i just find out the the name of the foundation is not called light, it is call fair...

MAC blot powder in light is veryvery pale - it's almost white. i've heard people complain that it makes them ghostly but it works well for me. it doesn't darken on your face after awhile like some other powders.
