a skirt with several pieces sewn together is the type I'm really talking about some of these aren't quite that but they are very similar.

Paris just looks so silly in them.

I really like the one Claudia Schiffer is wearing though.

To me, there are two kinds of peasant skirts - old-school peasant skirts, and updated ones - I def. like updated ones, such as Ashley Olsens. Now as for the traditional peasant skirts, I just will absolutely not get into them.

I only own one in chocolate brown that I wear with a plain white tank, and a wooden bangle. And I won't wear flip flops with them. Just looks tacky to me. I'd rather do a nice leather sandal.

I only own one peasant skirt... i wear it with a tank, too ^^

I have a few...cos they are so comfy.

I like to pair them with flats and sandals, sometimes they can do double duty as a dress if it is long enough.

Yay for peasant skirts. I think they are great and look great on any type op woman. Love it...and thanks for the pics by the way!

style savy, if you're going to make topics in trendspotting, would you mind posting other evidences of the trend, such as runway pics, rather than just posting dozens of celebrity pics? also you need to be posting links to the source of your pics. :flower:

as for the peasant skirt trend, it's pretty much a 'done' trend. it's been around the block and back again. with that said, I'm a bit mixed because I like long, full skirts... I own several. I think they are pretty. BUT...I hate the way these are styled. I don't like the way I see them worn by most people - it's like there is this formulaic 'style'...it's too fussy and unoriginal. and I'd never wear cowboy boots with one...

^Agree 100% with everything you said.

Here's some runway looks (style.com)

I generally HATE the tiered ones with a passion. I like long flowing skirts though in similar materials, I just like the flow of them, but the tiered ones just are so  to me

I think they are darling, but personally they dont look good on me. I look too short, and the fact youre forced to wear flats or sandals... its just not me...

i recently bought a couple of them, one in fading blue(going darker as goes to bottom) and the other in teal with several layers(so it looks like a bulky dress)
I LOVE them 'cause they're so comfy. I'm not against wearing them with flip-flops and I also wear them with birkenstock gizeh.
but you see sooo many people wearing it thesedays(especially with white tank and loosened wide belt) which I'm not too excited about.
