I don't know where else to post this so...Do you guys think this is "soooo" trendy it will look very dated in a few years, that thing that looks so very 2009 or is it the kind of thing that will a reoccurring theme in seasons to come?
depends on your personal style... if this is something you would wear 5 years agoa, then you may as well be wearing it in 5 years from now... if not, then yes, ithis is 2009 trendy...![]()

I don't think so. Rick Owens has been doing that style of leather jacket for years (I've always wanted one). I think it's a classic. Well, maybe not to the mainstream, but they don't know RO anyway.i think this is very trendy and it looks like 2009 for sure![]()
)Starting a job at a hedge fund on Monday where everyone dresses up -- suits, ties, the whole thing for men.
If I could wear sheath dresses year-round, I'd be set. But alas, a Chicago winter will not allow that. Or will it? Will it look silly to be in a sheath dress when it's snowing outside? I mean, once I am in the office, won't it look to be in context? Or should I stick with pants for the winter?
Can't you just wear a jacket over the dress? Maybe boots to keep your legs warm?
Jacket or sweater, yes. Boots, no, sadly! I don't like how boots look on myself, especially not with a rather formal, businessy sheath dress.
I figure bare legs in the office is okay? Yes, I will look awkward on the train to work since it'll be snowing outside, but once I get inside shouldn't I look fine in context? That's all I care about. Be honest with me, will bare legs in the winter look stupid?
Pardon my reluctance to utilize tights and boots. *sigh*
Unless you're incredibly warm-blooded I think you're risking hypothermia waiting on an L platform in the winter with bare legs. How do you feel about some kind of leggings/thick tights/boots combo for the commute? As a year-round skirt wearer that was the only way I was able to survive the winter work commute...

Yes, boots are definitely IN for the commute. I always just change into pumps at work unless I take a taxi.
If I hate tights, is it horrifyingly stupid to just wear them for the commute and take them off before work? Or again, will I look really odd in the office with bare legs? That's the issue! fashionista-ta has put in opinion that it may seem a little odd. I wonder if I'll get anyone on my side! LOL
Sorry, I am a native Californian. I still haven't learned to navigate Chicago's brutal winters.
I don't know why I hate tights to much.![]()
