Pieter Mulier - Designer, Creative Director of Alaïa

@pieter_mulier

He still really does not care about leaking his own collections ahead of time…I guess it probably is him that’s rumored to want out of his company for some unknown reason
Nothing leaked, he does that all the time. They even did it once on the official account.

I mean, JWA has leaked his collection 3 months before the show. So if someone do 1 look or glimpse, it’s fine at this point.

I guess that's our answer as to whether PVO's getting a CD job: Never.

That said, this is really irresponsible on Bazaar's part as it makes Mulier look really bad for no reason. There's already comments trashing him for "lying".

For sure they send a copy for proof reading to Pieter or at least his team as is normal with interview there is no excuse its not first time that's why PVO draws a line now publicly.

And like i write here often trying to explain the reality with in these brands , the most talented people don't get the jobs its the most *sskissing snake oil salesman do and names that are associated with a winning designers as peter is seen in Dior documentary he became the nr 2 of raf as if it was always so.

PVO i think said in last interview podcast that he don't want a cd job..its not everyone's dream i get that.

It’s his right to shout! It’s his work and he should be the one celebrated for that.
It’s not Pieter’s fault, solely lazy press that has articles written by incompetent people.

The lack of fashion history knowledge is really sad in a industry where it’s quite easy to obtain the real info through sources when you are under a name like Harper’s Bazaar.

This is the industry at the same time that falls into the traps of social media short memory.

But someone commented it happened before in the Le Monde M article about Pieter too. Maybe it’s not the problem of Harper’s Bazzar.

interviews with magazines you get send for proof reading you think Blazy and his team are so small and new they won't request this ??

we really think his knowledge of doing press is so rookie ?

i highly doubt it its common courtesy when your doing a piece on someone because you can get sued etc .

my stomach turns to read it's not pieters fault it's solely lazy press .....we can't be this hero centric with companies or people in power positions.

repsblity lies in both sides the interview and person being interviewed

It’s just endemic of how bad journalism is nowadays, everyone with knowledge knows that Patrick was Raf’s #2 at Jil Sander. I don’t think Pieter himself would ever suggest otherwise.

But I have to say it’s surprising to see Patrick speak out like this, he’s usually so elusive. Also makes me think he’s maybe a little bit jealous of Pieter’s success…

Who is PVO

Im for whomever is against Raf. Im about to run out and buy as much of this dumb looking Alaia as I can.

just tell me who is anti Raf and Ill be in the boutique as fast as the uber black shows up.

I réitère. A fashion journalist doing an article has to do their due dilligence.
It’s their publication, their reputation, their job to do the thing.
I don’t care for Pieter. Because this kind of fault won’t lie into him.
The fact that a magazine send an article before validation and everything is almost irrelevant to the fact.
The reader of the magazine is the one who is going to be fooled by a false information. In that case, it’s not Pieter’s fault.
It’s my POV.

If I decide to lie in a publication and that lie gets printed on, it’s not my fault if the journalist didn’t do basic fact-check. Even more in something that is so widely known.

Now I’m the one side-eyeing Bazaar because you expect a certain level of accuracy from a big prestigious magazine.

^ He's liking any comments that criticize Pieter though.
Maybe he feels like he is an imposter.
I hate that he is doing it because you don’t want to look like the « bitter one who is looking from outside ».

But he is certainly more talented than Pieter. That is sure. I don’t feel like he is playing the fashion game though in being visible.

We can criticize the industry how much we want, you have to be visible.
I would love to see him somewhere. Maybe Bally for example.

I know when we had to proofread interviews it was done by multiple people from the PR director to the right hand of CD and every department that's had to check for accuracy or signoff in case something like even a book title was correct etc its a normal thing!!It's not irrelevant.

To me irrelevant is the reader being fooled because nobody cares who was right hand of Raf it matters more for the industry

Unheard of in my experience that a piece for a magazine where you have time to edit is not send before to give green light when i can't be pre red on time its mentioned etc and things are agreed beforehand with trust.

If in the case a interviewer lies and the journalist can't find back up evidence or does not do proper investigation this is another layer.
I side eye both Pieter and the journalist..... again because its not ot the first time.

It's too simplistic to to place blame on one party when there are two sides responsible for accurate info
